ОтветитьIt's always good machining practice to roll the piece to be worked on around in the dirt and cement to get as much grit and dirt into the equation. I guess it adds to the accuracy, lol

ОтветитьI know they have limited tooling but I am mot so sure about brazing the block like that and the implication of all that localised heat. Personally I would have had the bearing surface overboard then fitted a sleeve to bring it back to standard. But then again I would have scrapped the block so who am I to criticise.

Ответитьone way to keep those flying chips out of the nearby bolt holes etc, fill said holes with shaving cream. It catches the debris and washes out.

ОтветитьI'd let these guys fix my stuff any day. What's their address so I can have it shipped? I hope they don't just specialize in certain things. Do they take outside orders? I've been to machine shops here in the US and they all make a big deal out of just the smallest thing and they charge a fortune. Maybe I could drum up customers for them here in the states. I'm afraid the turn-around time might be too long. Excellent work from excellent guys.
ОтветитьAs far as I've been able to make out, the handling of the parts seems tough and to many just abhorrent. But considering the clear lack of options for new these engineers and engines seem to keep these nations moving.
Why else would they bother. We like to sit on the fence with high standards etc. But we should also remind ourselves that quality doesn't always beat quantity.
I've been very impressed at the skill shown here. And the confidence.
Lastly the safety Sandals are key to a comfortable days work.

ОтветитьYes, we found some other problems with your block. There seems to be some hairline cracks, pits and grit found inside of the block.

ОтветитьI don’t understand what is going on here. How can half the main bearing journal need building up and the other half be ok? They then bored them all out when there looked nothing wrong with them. They must be able to get oversize bearing shells in the OD as well as the ID 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ makes you wonder if there is anything than can’t be repaired for these guys.

ОтветитьTech like lathes etc BUT no cart or hoist. The block is rolled in the dirt to get to the machine with dirt still on it.
