Well I don’t have the experience that a lot of commenters here have but I do enjoy seeing the occasional c-5 and stealth bombers show up here at Forbes field in topeka ks. We have a long airstrip at the base that can even land b52’s and the space shuttle if need be.
My dad worked on c130 props here back in the 70’s but now it’s the home of the Kansas coyotes (190) ARW. Kc 135’s I think. Good shit. Planes flying everyday. 🇺🇸👍🏻

She doesn’t scream anymore like she used to with those new engines 😢but I rode back from Pakistan on one of these ladies in 05 and let me tell you the ear plugs are a must lol. No sound insulation in those things at all but man would she scream on takeoff! We were sure we’d get an RPG up the butt on takeoff because the damn thing just crawls into the air lol

I flew back from Germany years ageo. I thought the troop seats were up front. The video said they are in the back of the aircraft. One coment said as I under stand that they sat up front behind the the cockpit I'm confused.

i was in the army stationed near ramstein air base in germany, no matter where you were on the base when those c-5s took off and landed you had to stop and just watch,i was there when a c-5 crashed during take off just seeing all the crew and cargo on the ground was very upsetting,ill never forget it

I caught the love of these planes from my son. We went to every air show Maxwell AFB had until he went into the Marines. And what did he want? Why to work on f18s. I love that look of the plane landing. Looks like the wheel assembly is reaching to grab the ground, like a giant raptor.

There's almost nothing to compare the C-5 to it's a monster of a plane, maybe the Anotov is bigger but I'm not sure
