Pakistan never wanted to go for blast as that was the cheapest way of remaining N power. Actually NPT was to be revised in 1997 and during prior negotiations to that , it was proposed that India may incl by raising cut out date from 1967 to 1974. Immediately Sheryar Sahib, who was in Washington , immediately declared that we have certain parts in our store , which if assembled will result into N bomb.
