Them actors are way to pale to have been working on a farm in california. That last scene where she noticed Ryan in the car mirror, dude is pale as winter. Good movie.

When I saw the title, I thought it would be something of a scifi movie because of the word "rising". (like Mercury rising) Strange title, but very hearwarming movie.

wow, same map we had on the wall when we were growing up... use to play ''where is the country''.

It's a sad story and painful to watch. Additionally: Without subtitles nothing of the Spanish/Mexican talking can be understood. Let alone the he through the nose American English talking of the main actress is sometimes difficult to understand. Had I known all this before I wouldn't have wasted my time to watch this drama.

Pray for the farmers. They under attack worldwide.

It's a Dammed shame the banks only think of business before a human.
I feel bad for the folks put into situations like this due to the banking system and how they cheat people of their livelihood.

Here in europe with the money from EU to the agricultures, they live well. They live very well. They have machines to do all the work they need. Do not need to be a strong man.

True Story: Banks stopped supporting the family farm and helped conglomerates or developers take over - now the family farm is nearly extinct. All the worse for our country, for farming practices, and for the food supply. Pity that this is supposed to be about a coming of age movie, but that Andy, being a girl, still doesn't know what she wants and unscrupulous "business" men decided her fate for her, and she'll be better off for it? Then the neighbor woman who got her husband on the rebound comes and tells Andy she is worth bigger things?? That neighbor is just covering her tracks because of her guilt in her part of selling out. She is speaking from guilt, not truth. What a stupid Movie!!! it should not be called July Rising, But July Stomped into the Mud.

Holy Shit !!! First time I see a movie about making it go right that ends in a loss . Amazing ! realistic, but definitely not a good ending. Filthy developers won. If they could theyd do away with all the country. There'd just be one huge city from coast to coast. BTW, if that happens, what are those bastards gonna do with themselves?

Excellent movie. I find myself and my soul being magnetically pulled to all things earth growing, As a garden influencer, i am growing a greener world. However, there are hardships as this movie depicts in it's own unique way. There is so much to discover in this realm and i thank you for such an insightful movie. Young minds are passionate and i too was influenced at age 16 by a garden influencer and i also began a short relationship with the son on the farm. Nothing serious but it impacted me in a good way. tku

Frederic March is excellent but almost every scene in the picture is rushed.

My goodness me! What was the writer or Producer thinking when they wrote and released this movie to the public. A Public who are already facing hard times, yeh! Let's cheer them up with a movie about a young lass who loses everything and is beaten down by the bullies! It may be true to life but hey! Don't you think we see enough of this horrid side of life for real! No feel good factor here to cheer us up!
