majestic video, thanks to David Harvey.
ОтветитьThis video is becoming painfully relevant again, now that we're in the early stages of another crash
ОтветитьVery relevant for today!
ОтветитьThe point of departure?
Grundrisse
funny I stumble on this video exactly ten years after it was made, April 26, 2020.
Ответитьan excessive power of labour back in the 1970 is a bullsh*t
actually this video ain't explains nothing, just some fancy painting in here
time to read the capital of karl marks, guys. these fat cats - many of them did it
socialism or capitalism
Far too much information for me.
I'd have preferred less advanced illustration and a simpler explanation.
Karl Marx is a goldmine
ОтветитьGood job RSA!

ОтветитьCan space exploration for rare earths help capital market economy from economic depression?
ОтветитьA decade later... The zombie marches on.
ОтветитьCommunist!!!!!!!!!! Blaghhhhhhhhh
ОтветитьBrilliant
ОтветитьAnnnd here we are. Fed's about to release the biggest stimulus ever.
ОтветитьThe answer is to embrace strong sustainability.War must be made illegal. All our efforts must go into peaceful cooperation.
ОтветитьDoing an amazing job!!
ОтветитьThe dude talks so insightfully about economic models and issues for 10 minutes and then concludes with: just join an anti-capitalist organization, bruh, capitalism sucks. All's well and good with his theories but the problem is we are spending too much time discussing the problem and too little cooking up a solution. Any academic has their own views and debates, but if you really want to do something about it, then propose the solutions: how should we change the economy, what systemic changes do you propose, how should they work, is it necessarily a matter of changing capitalism from the roots and replacing it with something else (like socialism, since he is marxist) or should we make major changes within capitalism itself? Try to answer these questions as an academic, as opposed to just pointing fingers and saying: let's topple the big fat greedy capitalists and then we have no idea what to put instead of them.
ОтветитьCentralization of power is the main issue. It enables a few people to manipulate and rig the economy in their favor.
Multiple decentralized equalitarian communities, such as anarchist syndalicism, are feasible.
State Socialism doesn't work. It only centralizes power, no matter how benign it's intentions are.
These arguments are shallow and not well thought out
ОтветитьHe talks of a lot anti capitalist policies to say capitalism doesn’t work
ОтветитьWhen y’all say things are getting worse what do y’all mean because before the pandemic the world had lowered poverty significantly
ОтветитьNext time can you dip his arm in green paint and green screen it out?
Ответитьbonk! go to finance jail
ОтветитьAuthor, you're absolutely right. The modern economic model leads the world to the abyss.
ОтветитьLove how many women are in this drawing
ОтветитьCapitalism and socialism are antiquated systems.
The crisis is that we are not evolving/advancing our economic systems.
The world has changed vastly since these systems were conceived.
Automation, efficiency, technology, globalism...all these things beg to change our economic systems to meet the current demands
credit....using consumers to circulate the bank's money.
like money laundering for banks

ОтветитьI keep hearing the capitalism vs socialism debate and people will state something like: "Well what would you prefer socialism? Capitalism is better." But under capitalism a company who opts to take financial risk faces the consequences of that risk if things go wrong, for the government to protect said company by bailing them out is not capitalism. So how exactly does the capitalism vs socialism argument even fit here?
ОтветитьMarxism is toxic religion .
ОтветитьNew ideas always hated on by the existing powers. Always.
ОтветитьAre you serious? "marxist perspectives are unusual"? Compared to what?
Ответитьkill money 10 years later
Ответитьthis is as relevant today as it was 12 years ago
ОтветитьI like this stuff and wish to be taught how to do it, Marxism would interesting to learn and teach
ОтветитьFrom which lecture is this taken? Does anyone have a written version I can reference? I'd be happy if anyone could help me !
ОтветитьAll "ISM's" are require fuel & the earth is at peak oil. It's here now. When oil declined, the human population will declive just like it raised up w/oil production. Good luck to all.
ОтветитьHayak rips.
ОтветитьCapitalism can be solved with the Gold Standard sound money, transparency, low taxes, free market unregulated capitalism. That's actually what real capitalism is. What David Harvey is describing is crony capitalism.
ОтветитьSeems weird to explain something as simple as greed in such a complex way.
ОтветитьI have come back to this video every year since it came out and it only gets more depressingly relevant as the years go by. He called it all and nothing's changed in the intervening 13 years. If you're reading this and aren't a member already: Join a Union.
ОтветитьIngeniería financiera vs crecimiento real...
ОтветитьThe change from the Democratic Capitalism of the USAs boom times ( 50s / 60s ) to Neoliberalism 40 years ago has seen it moving steadily further Right.
In the USA we see the Dangers of the Right-Wing`s Power of the Individual ideology - Murdoch`s Control over western media,
Trump`s avoidance of jail, Epstein`s Power over & Protection of Politician & Corporate Richlister clients ( 4 years, No Prosecutions ? ) We see the Power over People / Profit over People exercised by Corporations ( Sole purpose Profit & with the legal status of an Individual ) - Marketing Surveillance / collection of Personal Details, Lobbying for Political Favour, Control of Media, Widespread Corruption - ( Cancers from Tobacco, Fracking, Teflon etc ? )
Maybe it`s time to realise that we have gone Too Far to the Right ! ( towards Fascism ? ) and that Democratic Capitalism was a better system than the Neoliberalism of Today ! ! : )
( Neoliberalism - National Socialism - NeoNaziism ? ? ? )
I remember hearing from Steve Keen years ago (sorta paraphrasing Minsky) that Finance was meant to be the cost of doing business, and never a way a generator of profit and capitol.
ОтветитьAnd the mode of thinking - jail those who manage the system they produces everything and steal all their wealth lol. Marxists being marxists.
ОтветитьAs Nick Hanauer said in HIS article... "the pitchforks as coming... for the rich"!
