I work just around the corner from cotton Owens house. At my job I have been blessed to have met him and David Pearson and the great Bud Moore. I loved Buds stories. Spartanburg truly misses them. And you can’t forget about Ol Dick Brooks too. Love yawls channel. 👍🏻. #43

Awsome channel keep up the great work. Y'all should tell story on 1966 or 1967 Tennessee race where Richard hit the wall and Maurice put car back together and aligned with some string and won.

I don't know if you guys can help me. Recently, I saw a picture taken with you and your Dad, Richard, Kyle and Lee by Lee's Oldsmobile at the museum. I have been trying to find a copy of that photo with no luck. This past weekend, I acquired a photo of Lee, Richard, Kyle and Adam by the same car and I believe it may have been taken about the same time. I would really like to acquire the one with all of you if at all possible. I always admired your Dad and I admire you three as well and I would like to at that to my collection. If you have any idea where I can obtain that photo, I would really appreciate it. Thank you for your great videos and keep up the great work

I wanted to work for Bud when I was younger, and somehow got to meet Red(Ken). I would go buy his house some evenings and talk with him while he built gears in his out building. Gave me a Wrangler coat and shirt once. Bought some old programs from Miss Sue as well. Great people. Always made me feel welcome.

That would've been cool to have a super speedway in Spartanburg. Home town of David Pearson and HQ of Holman/Moody. That would've been some horsepower burning at any cost, just for bragging rights.

The track in Spartanburg was to be built near the intersection of Interstates 85 and 26. It would have changed the entire layout of Spartanburg if it had happened. Dick Brooks also was living in Spartanburg County, in Woodruff. My deceased father bled Petty Blue and was a MOPAR guy his entire life. When Earnhardt wrecked Bobby Hamilton at Rockingham, my father called him shi_teater for the rest of his life. He was raised in the North Georgia Mountain culture and saw it as taking food off another man's table. It was hilarious.

I believe the "Blue Laws" were the main reasons for Spartanburg not getting the node for the big track that Alabama got. Blue Laws if you don't remember didn't allow any business to be open on a Sunday. I just ran up on your site, I 'm up here in Smut Means territory, Forest City, NC, take care and keep the vids coming

My dad was a was in Cotton's pit crew during the from 1964 to 1968 until my mom said he needed to give up his hobby and actually work in the profession that he went to school for, which was pharmacy. Dad was great friends with Cotton, Bud, Jack Smith, James Hylton, and David Pearson, who was my mom's 2nd cousin. I was born in 1980 but anytime my dad was off, we would go to Cotton and Dot's house, Bud's shop, and we would usually eat lunch with David at The Peach Blossom. I remember going to Cotton's garage and getting in and out of all the cars he had built in his shop. Bud would do the same thing. Cars they were building or were already built and race ready, I wasn't tall enough at the time to get in the cars myself, so Bud would either put me in the car or I would get in with a step stool. Bud would always ask me if the car passed my inspection, jokingly of course. Those are memories I cherish to this day. When my wife and I were married, Cotton', Bud, David, and Jack Smith attended our wedding.

The race trck that became Talladega was going to be built off I-85 just on the other side of Spartanburg. The land was bought, cleared, and ready for construction but the residents of the area didn't want the hassle of the crowds, potential traffic congestion, and noise from the track. So Spartanburg County turned it into a landfill. That still pisses me off to this day.
