A Quiet Place was actually one of the first horror films I saw outside of Alien and Jaws. I (like many people, I'm sure) had bought candy and popcorn, and through the whole movie, I was afraid to even move, let alone eat. Really speaks to John's ability as an actor and director. Hope he keeps it up!

I loved that he took the sound out when the deaf daughter was on screen. I wish movies would use LESS music generally - many times it feels like a crutch for not having built tension or made scenes that are interesting enough on their own. Often it's too loud, embarassingly blatantly attempting to manipulate, or simply annoying and jarring due to the choice. Not having sound for her also made the bus scene sooo much scarier.
