I hope you have advice for me. My silver hebe was dying in the container so I figured it was cramped. I took it out and loosened up the roots (I did have to tear it out of the ground as it had gone through the pot), and replanted it, cutting it back quite a bit. There was very little fresh green buds and it doesn't seem to be recovering. Think it's lost altogether? Thanks!

Hi, great channel. Both of my P. Tom Thumbs and my Hebes have been badly hit by the frosts of Winter 2022/23. If there is a glimmer of life in the Hebes do you think it worth trying to resuscitate them or just replace them? As to the Pittosporum which have lost nearly all their leaves, should I cut back REALLY hard or do you think they will repeat throughout in due course?

I took a lot of Hebe cuttings when I started my channel. I still have four large Hebe's in my garden today all cuttings from 2017.

Careful with hebes. Prune often and only little bit. They don't grow back when cut back to woody bits

My hebes are really full and lovely BUT very leggy under the leaf area. What can I do to save them? Ideally I would want to cut them back to just brown wood IF they will recover? I’d love your input.

I don't know what it is about hebes - they don't survive the Winter very well in my garden - the last one in the garden was completely knocked back this Winter and it was a mild one. Yours look perfect!

Hebes are great, they even flower a little bit over the winter I notice, and can be almost as attractive to butterflies in the late summer as buddleia.

I like how you're shaping them into balls too, Dan! It adds that touch of formality to the garden bed without looking too structured! It's a nice look! It occurred to me I could use the same trim that you and your plants are getting.. I should have got in line! They are going to fill in beautifully! I adore that your son is already a gardener in his own right! Nothing delights me more than to see future generations prepared and ready to carry on the legacy!! Have yourself a wonderful weekend, my friend!! Cheers!!🍻💖
