I have the current GTI which I love. I only like the front bumper and rear lights otherwise not for me thanks waste of money

MK6 is still the best looking GTI. Not too big nor too small, just perfect.

Wheels remind me of the Mk5 Detroit or axe head wheels. Love ‘em

VW replaces the elegant radar sensor that was in the VW badge with an illuminated one? Who cares about illuminated VW badges! Nope! Let's put the radar in front of the intercooler, because the GTI/R buyers don't even know what an intercooler is? Right VW? Who are you catering to?

Piano black trim in areas you'll be touching all the time, hard to work out how they signed that one off. That screen should be lower and integrated into the dash, way too distracting mounted so high up. Looks like VW has cocked up with the interior. No thanks.

That new badge under the side mirrors looks so cheap.

Why get rid of Manual Gear box? VW loves to make stupid decisions.....And most car companies have stopped giving a Spare tire. Which genius came up that decision?

Looks like the designers previously worked for Peugeot because that is a 308 GTi. Lost all the "Golf" the Mk5 recovered from the old mk1/2

The 'G T I' on the sides looks cheap and lazy; why change it from where it was?! And couldn't the LCD have been any larger?

Sounded like a lot of options. Can’t believe the tyres you need for the car (19 inch) are an option. Just so annoying they charge so much for the car but you have to add so much more. Manual strut. What. They taking buyers for mugs these days. Why oh why do they insist on putting climate controls in screens. What was wrong with a dial and a button. How much do they actually save for taking away these features and make everyone annoyed. 😊

They always gave nice engine covers. They are making the car cheaper and selling it for more. FU VW. You guys have lost my respect and I've been a fan for over 30 years. The GTI badge on the side looks like a damn afterthaught and so out of place. These wheels ik my view are crap. No paint under the bonnet is clearly a cost saving measure. You are not knitpicking. Its evidence to support the statement that theyre making it cheaper and selling it more.

3 minutes in… ruled out this car! Wanted. Mk8 then touch everything meant avoid. WTF are these seats! Stop messing with perfection VW before you drive people away! This review may have improved it I don’t care those seats are 1000% NO

We're looking to replace our Mk7. The current Mk8 is mostly good, less some of the infotainment issues. Sadly this new infotainment system look awful just stuck on the dash, looks bargain bin and to dominating of the dash. There was nothing wrong with the size of the current one, just fix the issues. Buttons on the steering wheel - two thumbs up!

Obviously it's better to have the gas struts on the bonnet but If the car is built to a price and that money went from the gas struts of the bonnet to the physical buttons on the steering wheel, I am glad with this.
