Hi, I was looking at the Apple refurbished site and I found Refurbished Mac Studio Apple M1 Ultra Chip with a 20‑Core CPU and 48‑Core GPU, 64GB ram with a price reaches $3,059.00 where Max m2 is casting $2,998.99. My goal is only the best performance with Logic Pro + VST like bbc symphony Orchestra Pro (CPU and memory hungry). What would be your advice on that? Thank you
ОтветитьCrazy I remember when the imac pro was considered fast
ОтветитьI would definitely like to see a comparison between Mac Studio and 27” iMacs!
ОтветитьSo, sell me the one you don't want. Please.
ОтветитьIs the base with 512 gb storage going to run at the same speed as 1 tb? If there is a difference, is it small in real world applications?
ОтветитьFor a social media content creator who does video editing, photo editing, after effects, animation and maybe wants to get into music production. What config would you suggest also for future proof it.
I currently have an M1 Pro 14" MBP 16core gpu and 116gb ram and it is very powerful, but recently I watched a tutorial for Logic and before that I downloaded all the instruments in the library and my Mac ran out of memory 2 times plus one time logic just quitted itself.
Also what I see is that, when I edit 4k videos in fcp without proxys, and I finished a project, sent it to render and immediately start working on a new project, fcp won't render the video I sent to render. I need to stop editing and playing back, then it will render.
I am looking for a machine that can handle all this and all the things I want to do in the future (animations, after effects, prbly blender, as I said maybe music production, etc.).
After looking up the specs I think I will go with the 2tb version as of 4tb is quite much and I have an external ssd plus a NAS with like 16TB of HHD for keep old projects saved.
Also I guess the 64 core ultra gpu is not worth the extra 1000€, or am I wrong here?
The one thing I really struggle with is the RAM, Max said plenty times 64GB is enough but I saw two other people saying that if they have blender and photoshop open or do some real heavy stuff in photoshop, 128GB is really a good choice... But im here and just planing on starting to learn photoshop, but as I said for Final Cut etc. I need a better machine... also for university and as I mentioned im a freelance video editor/ social media manger.
What are your recommendations for specs?
No, we should buy the 128 gigs of ram but not the 64 gigs of gpu
ОтветитьInjamparasika mulla mulla trindi macharu !!!
Ответитьi want to buy 24core basic, goes for 32gb or 64gb ram?
ОтветитьSo I am a Foley Artist and use pro tools. I used to have a 5k iMac 2015 that I used but I eventually moved to a Windows laptop since I was needing a more portable life at the time. On the current project I am on, I had severe issues, bad enough where I needed to reinstall Pro Tools 3 times and every time the project file was corrupted. I was also missing Mac OS since I have been with mac prior since Mac OS 7!!!! Basically raised on Mac. So I needed a new computer for the job so I checked Apple for prices. I found on their website a Refurbished Mac Studio M1 Max 32 Core 32gb of ram and 1tb of space for an amazing price of $2049. I then ordered through a good friend who further lowered the price $1835. I know it isn't an ultra but for what I do, I think the computer I got is perfect. Especially for the price I paid for it. Sadly I have to wait till Next week to get it so cant use it for current project but still excited to have a mac again. Especially since I have not touched anything in the Apple Silicon eco system. Thank you for all these videos, they have been very helpful for making an informed decision.
ОтветитьI really would like to see the difference between iMac, iMac Pro and Mac Studio!
ОтветитьPure negativity
ОтветитьI want portability as well as very good performance. So I am buying the 14-inch MacBook Pro. As a business traveler, I can't use the Mac Studio on the airplane since it has to be plugged in to power. The 14-inch MacBook Pro is perfect for me since it has good form factor, great performance, a built in display and a battery, which the Mac Studio lacks.
Ответитьwould be nice to see the comparison of the 2020 i7 imac with radeon 5700 xt 16gb with the base mac studio
ОтветитьPleeease compare to 27 iMac
ОтветитьConfidently saying don't buy the Ultra with 128? Seriously? Run an orchestral template lately? Docker containers? It's an incredibly welcome option for those that actually use it. Folks need to pay attention to their activity monitors and decide for themselves what makes sense.
ОтветитьWhen do you think M2 Max 16” will come out?
Ответитьyour videos are the best!
ОтветитьSo great to watch your content so I share your videos with my friend n family so tht they can learn new things from your videos and by the way excellent content man. Much love from India💙🫂
ОтветитьLove it
ОтветитьI really just can’t stomach 1tb for $4k. It’s complete nonsense.
Ответитьi absolutely need an imac pro vs M1 ultra comparison video
ОтветитьPlease make that video comparing the iMac Pro and Mac studio
ОтветитьDon't buy either of them - horrible if you use or do anything with Logic and audio - totally useless - may be quick but doesn't do the simplest tasks in Logic - its horrible
ОтветитьSingle apps might have limitations as to how they can utilise all the cores across the infinity fabric. A better test would to be test two apps simultaneously and see how the ultra differs vs the max that way. If that sucks then it’s Mac OS not the apps or limits on the soc due to power/heat/bandwidth. Great video. Very informative. Still not sure whether to get an M1 Mac mini or the 1999 studio. Meh…
ОтветитьDon’t return it… give it to me lol
ОтветитьDo not buy the 128GB model? There are use cases where 128GBs is absolutely necessary, if not 256GBs. My primary template takes up about 100GBs of memory when it loads. Many of my clients have the 2019 Mac Pro with 256GBs or more. As far as core count goes, same thing. There are use cases where multi-core processing is extremely important. Many processes still single thread, so you won’t notice a speed increase with the Ultra, but in my industry almost all software in multi-core aware. So the higher the core count, the better. That’s why I bought the Ultra with 128GBs of memory and a 4TBs flash drive. It’s kind of ridiculous to just write of the high end model without putting it in context.
ОтветитьI bought the Mac Studio Max with 32 GPU, 64gb RAM, and 2tb SSD. Wondering if I should cancel to buy the Ultra. I probably don't need too much. I just use it for web browsing, editing pictures on photoshop and videos on premiere pro.
ОтветитьGlad to see that you are not doing so much hyperbole and Crazazy, Used-Car Salesman yelling, like on some past videos!
Really appreciate that, because as a serious member of the Mac community (I was one of the 3 dynamos that created BMUG - Berkeley Macintosh Users Group) - we learned that's it's better to UNDERSELL and then OVER-DELIVER - And if you don't know the significance of BMUG, well, you don't know the significance of BMUG! Fuggedaboutit!
But anyway, keep on giving good comparisons and try to speak a little slower, as it instills a higher trust value in people's hearts and psyche's!
God Bless And All The Best!

The reality is, the teasing is about the clickbait and not technically about you returning products. You buy all these products knowing that you will not keep them all but the video and titles gives the impression that you expected to keep these devices, but they disappointed you to the point where you just had to get rid of it. In reality you get rid of it because you purchased more than you needed and have already produced the content you intended to produce.
There’s nothing wrong with this and I’m a huge fan of your channel but if you gone address the comments, you should be wholesome. No need to gaslight, could have easily let us make our jokes and save yourself the time and dishonesty. We know you know.
1 question:
how much time to create a 1: 1 preview in lightroom = 100 raw photos / in Mac Studnio Ultra vs Macbook Max ?
You’re just running out of things to talk about… Another click bait video. I’m getting the 48 core with 128 gigs are a Ram… Whether you think it’s a good thing or not… You seem to be clueless. Remember the future is coming and in 3 or 4 years from now perhaps 128 gigs of RAM will be perfect. If I want to run Cinema 4D and after effects and resolve all at the same time… Nothing like lots and lots of ram. Four years ago when I bought the iMac Pro… It paid for itself in six months. I’m sure this will do the same. I just can’t imagine who your target audience is… Kids who wish they could be editors?
ОтветитьAPPLE is the Evil Fruit for a reason R2R F2R
ОтветитьThe money you could save from choosing a mid-range Mac Studio, would be enough to buy a TrueNas Server.
ОтветитьBro I don't care if you return everything u by the details you going to with these Apple products I need Apple products are very expensive and I'm starting to get into the Apple life.. I need to know what I'm buying.. you're the channel I turned to what I'm trying to say is keep up the good work
ОтветитьTraded in Mac mini M1 8gb and have credit to upgrade. Debating on Studio Pro or MacBook Pro 16" with M1 pro
ОтветитьApple = 🗑
ОтветитьWhich studio is your recommendation for audio production?
ОтветитьCan you make an updated video showing the final cut performance now the pro apps have been updates to take advantage of the Ultra chip? Apparently they are MUCH faster.
ОтветитьAlso I want to see a video with the 'new' Final Cut Pro 10.6.2 With the Max and the Ultra, is that possible?
ОтветитьCan I buy an off-the-shelf Windows PC for $2,000 that performs better than a $2,000 Mac Studio for doing VFX work and editing videos?
Is the $4,000 Mac Studio my best choice for a system that I plan to use for VFX and video editing?
Now that the updated version of FCP is available, how about a performance update?
ОтветитьImac Pro and maxed out 2020 Imac comparison with the 4k studio has my vote !!!!
ОтветитьHow can i use my eGPU (AMD Vega 56 Pulse) with my M1 Max Mac Studio? I don‘t can use it at the moment! Thx
ОтветитьIf you do need 128GB of ram you know it. This is for people who dont know that they dont need 128GB of RAM.
I have a machine with a ryzen 5 Pro 4650G with 128GB of RAM and 32TB of SSD storage(~16GB/s).
Sounds stupid i know, but i set it up this way because the machine doesnt need a whole lot of horse power, but it does need alot of RAM for caching, but most people dont need it. I might get a 5700x if that chip ever gets under $200, because the parity calculations sometimes are held up by the 4650G
This is BETTER THAN LINUS!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS
