Part of the reason I find Norse paganism appealing is the inclusion of a female deity. In my mind, deity is composed of both a father spirit and a mother spirit. We would all seem to be the children of the same mother.

I once asked the channel VikingsReact about the fate of Freya. The question I asked them was did she survive Ragnarok, because one online source I had read said that she did because she actually does not take part in the final battle of Ragnarok, but I wanted someone who had actual Norse heritage to give a more concrete answer. Their reply was that whatever source I had read was most likely not accurate. They said to me that they felt Freya DOES fight in the final battle of Ragnarok for the very simple reason that Freya is the commander of the Valkyries, and the Valkyries ARE confirmed participants in Ragnarok, so there's really no reason why Freya WOULDN'T be personally leading her sisters-in-arms into that final battle, and more than likely would die fighting as well.
