ОтветитьI don’t agree AT ALL with this list. If you have IBS (and thus very likely SIBO), which is very common in people with chronic health problems, these are almost all terrible foods to eat. And hunter gatherers barely ate plant foods, especially the European or Northern Asian ones. That’s misinformation.

ОтветитьSorry to bring this to your attention are doctor but flaxseeds there was a new study done on them a clinically proven study with human people and they found out when they did this test using flaxseed that it attacks your testosterone levels and raises yesterday that's why I gave up all my good flaxseed anything that attacks my hormone health I get rid of it because when your hormones a high-level you stay and I've been on this hormone diet for a while I feel great I'm losing turns away my cholesterol's down my blood pressure is down I feel great and I'm in a better mood because of the hormone diet I just want to make sure people know about flaxseed Larry can attack your testosterone

A lot of 'healthy foods' can cause a lot more issues if you're super sensitive. Need to take this into account.
I use thé seeds as a topper on plain Greek yogurt with berries.

My dad used to tell me back in the 1980s that nature colour-codes its food and we should therefore eat as many different colours as possible to get all the nutrients. (He wa English teacher, not a scientist, but well-read). As DR Hyman implies, it's important not to become a slave to a handful of superfoods - variety is key. I try adding something new to my diet every week. (The neglected spice rack in the kitchen cupboard to a great place to start!).

ОтветитьEvery time ppl were talking about MCT oil, I was like... whhaat.. what is that 😆but never put any effort in investigating more about it. Thanks for the reminder! Just ordered myself a bottle. And all the valuable tips! My superfoods so far have been turmeric, ginger, acai, celery, grapefruit, kiwi, spinach and oregano. Dear lord, there are so many. I also have Reishi but it tastes so bitter in my porrdige or smoothie.. maybe I should cut down on the amount added to my dishes when using it. 😂

ОтветитьMy daily automated foods...avocado, olive oil, turmeric, chia seeds, flaxseed, salmon, garlic, kale and tons of veggies and fruits. Oh and collagen powder.
ОтветитьI was vegan and tried my best but my health was getting worse. As I started eating some animal products everything changed for the better. Forget only veganism. Eggs, meat and fish are super foods too. now I eat one meal a day and feel better than ever. In fact, I feel better and better every day. I wish we could only thrive on plant-based foods, but eating only plants almost destroyed me. If I hadn't come back to eat animal products, I would have been dead or extremely ill.
ОтветитьTwo of my favorite (I really have a lot!) super food simple yummy recipes: I like fresh sliced beets, I add olive oil, lemon (either juice or essential oil), a bit of sea salt, sometimes a bit of garlic powder!!! I also like to make chia seed pudding, especially because I used to really like tapioca pudding and rice pudding but dont eat them anymore (or at least conventional ones with sugar and all, I'm sure I could make my own that I can eat healthily!!) But for chia pudding, I mix about two TBSP chia seeds (organic my favorite), with about 1/2 cup coconut milk (unsweetened) (you can use any- almond milk, rice milk, oat milk, regular (good quality) cow milk, etc. You can even use water if you cant have any types of milk!) (You can use more or less liquid depending on the consistency you like ), Let the chia seeds and liquid sit for about 3-5 min at least for the cool pudding type consistency!! I add (before or after it sits-doesnt matter!!) cinnamon to taste, about 1 tsp maple syrup or honey, and sometimes I'll add some almonds, shredded coconut (UNSWEETENED!-Bob's red mill at Marc's or walmart) and every once in a while, top with a few small pieces chopped dark chocolate (not the sugar saturated, I like endangered species brand). You can be creative and add so many kinds of things-dried fruit, other nuts, flax seed, fresh fruit like apple chunks or berries, so much more! Hope I've inspired some of ya'll!! Eating well can be fun and desirable!! Thank you Dr Mark for your amazing truths of food as medicine that you share and help so many with!! ОтветитьThe reason "Hunter/Gatherers" got 100 grams of fiber a day is because they were gatherers who rarely got a kill. Their diet was much more plant based than animal based. Today's Paleo diet is a caricature of what was eaten during the Paleolithic period. There was no bacon or ghee. My superfoods are whole plant foods, as the doctor mentioned at the end. For me this includes a mountain of vegetables, a good amount of beans and fruits and modest amounts of nuts, seeds and whole intact grains.
