What a funny coincidence. Just a few hours ago I was doing some hobby cleanup and thinking about pulling all the HQ minis out of their trays and just dumping them in the box. This video is timed pretty perfectly; I'll be sure to do some version of your insert soon. Does the lid still fit flush? If not, I think I'd store those cards down below alongside the expansion boxes in that gap space.

That is kind of similar to what I did. I kept all the furniture in the original sleeve. And I was able to get all of the minutures including the expansions and the stretch goal standing vertically into a organized foam core box in the bottom, including all the cards and dice and quest manuals. I used some sponges cut to size to fill the height void to keep everything secure. Kind of proud of myself for it to be honest.

I like it! I especially like the steel base for storing minis upright. That seems much better to me than packing them into bulky foam if you're not going to be transporting them much.

That's what I have! The Barbarian Quest box was ideal for that It is a veritable pool of figurines from all expansions, and a few interlopers from other games.

Lovely ingenuity! With all these various "quest" games that you have looked at - HeroQuest 2021, Blackstone Fortress, Silver Tower, Cursed City...when will you get around to doing som real old school stuff like Warhammer Quest 1995? ;-)

Great value solution. See all these posts about people getting custom made foam inserts etc. How much did this cost? Few quid of foam and a couple of hours work? Sure the purists won't like that the minis are in a heap but hey if they are painted and varnished they'll be pretty sturdy.

Your custom tray is great. Using magnets to keep the miniatures upright is a really clever idea, where would I buy the steel from?

It’s ok if you don’t wanna paint your minis But if you do all your Nicely painted miniatures would get all scratched

I have the Battlefoam inserts, not super happy with it, Love the magnetic solution, Question though, how you going to put the Next expansion out in there lol

I threw the plastic inserts out the day I opened the box. Organized all the small minis standing in rows in the smaller expansion boxes, the bigger minis laying down in the bigger box and the dice in the small box. I bought a plastic container for the chits and just lay the board and DM Screen at the bottom of the box and the booklets on top of everything and it all fits nicely inside the big box, I just have to keep it flat, so the minis don't move.

I bought the Go7 HEROQ-001. It's awesome. It fits everything including the expansion.

Great idea, I'd go with that idea if I didn't have the Mythic Tier box.

I did something similar to this thanks to your video. I use the two boxes in the bottom for furniture and tile storage, plus hero's and related cards. My cards go into the gap to the right. Currently, I have everything from all current games in this box (up to dread moon, did not do the mythic tier), but I'm just about out of room.

The "mosh pit" of miniatures is interesting to me because it's exactly how the miniatures for the original HQ game I grew up with were stored. It worked surprisingly well, but some bits and bobs have snapped off, like a scythe from one of the Skeletons. I imagine the new material used for these miniatures means this will happen far less, which is a great thing to hear, as it still didn't happen much with my original set.

Love the idea of magnetizing the bases of the miniatures! It would allow them all to be organized in neat rows.
