What is the PATH on the command line, and how do I change it?

Don't know if it's cause I'm running 'oh-my-zsh' or what, but the 'which' command doesn't work at all for me... it always says something about aliases. All this cause I just want to learn how to fix the fucking PATH of msfconsole and setoolkit. 🙄 TIA.
