GoPro Hero 12 vs DJI Action 4- Don't Waste YOUR MONEY

i changed from gopro to dji. I dive every day and im flashed how good the white balance is on the dji

Colors can be fixed in post, but sharpness/detail can't. Look how much more detail the Hero 12 has in stuff like the road and the sand. Clear win imo.

DJI now runs the show , I've owned 2 of both company's and made similar honest reviews. I'm still on the action 3 looking to only go to DJI again

I bought a Hero 11 and used it for coasteering up here in Shetland. It lasted 30 minutes before it stopped working. Back at base I discovered it had taken on water which killed it. I sent it back and got my money back. I bought an Osmo 4 and have been absolutely blown away on every metric it is better than the go pro, image quality, audio, colour balance especially HDR. The clincher though is the mounting system and reliability. The Osmo is BOMBPROOF. Super robust and absolutely reliable. LOVE IT!

For me DJI action 4 is the best

Gopro seems to be shootin itself in their foot and just letting themselves bleed out after watching a few comparison video. Shame really.

Switching to DJI, as the lack of gopro customer support and endless camera faults is just unacceptable in 2023. As good a camera the 12 may be its still a terribly built product.

I think the Action 4 is a better camera - more contrast in lower light - more color detail - and the grading comparison was night and day! - I wonder how long it would run on a USB powered source before overheating? does 1080 allow it to run cooler, or does it matter? will it run 2hrs stationary continuous I wonder?

Honestly Ive been on GoPro’s side for so long and I have to say and admit, The Action-4 is a GoPro killer. Even to the 12

Ok im sold. Dji osmo 4 it is.

I been using gopro since 2012.. with hero 2, then i have a black 4, 8, 10 and ordered and ordered an gopro 12 with 3 way stick and sd card from gopro.. the packige came.. and had just an 3 way stick and sd card. Contacted gopro about the gopro 12 bundle packige missing in it. Packige was untotched and prefecly fine. Gopro started an investication for 1month and 11 days.. i contacted them 7 times.. about updates.. they did not want to send me one or send back my money. I lost so many races and events whete i needed that camera. I was so pissed off that made an police raport. The police contacted them and after that yesterday they send me one. Im still so annoyed about the customer service that today i ordered and dji action 4 adventure combo. Found that dji has much better magnetic quick connection, batterys last longer, charge much faster 80% in 18minutes while gopro 100% 2,5h... also.totchscreen on front. Better footage in dark, cheeper replacement service.. 36€ incurence for 2 years and replacement camera for just 19€! While gopro wants 50e for subscription and 99€ for replacement camera. Dji customerservice has been one of the best i ever had. Destroyed 2 drones this year and no questions asked got new replacement ones in 3 days in mail. Also gopro overheating problems have cut off recording so many timea when have done riski jumps with bike.. and i ended up not getting the clips.. and did not want to risk to try again..

You are incorrect regarding light sensitivity. What matters the most is how big the sensor PIXELS are.

4gen vs 12 gen.... hello battery performance in - and + degrees is a major ------ aaaaaaaaand !! ----------- magnet mount !! clear choice for me

Nice one. It begs a question though: can you possibly compare the "dewarp" from Action 4 vs "linear" on GoPro 12, which one has the most "natural" look?

stop this there is a huge difference in picture quality using 5.3k then watching in 4k its not slight ITS HUGE

I was enjoying the camera comparison narrative in the white balance section - but for some reason, all I could think was.....shark.

I have ZERO experience with any camera or any type... I do think about buying one as I ride a little mauntainbike. My only input on this is that i think the picture and color looks better on the GoPro when there is good lighting. (the other way around when its dark/bad light) But what is best on a MTB when you often ride in a place with lots of trees and its bright sun, dark shadow, bright sun dark shadow, shifting many times often within seconds?

And what about with HDR on, on those scenarios presented? I understand that is where the 12 shines 🤔 only seen that comparison with one reviewer, everyone else seem to not compare the DJI with the 12's HDR 🤔

Haven’t had a GoPro since the 3 model, the fisheye crap shot on wide angles was nonsense and it hasn’t gotten much better from what I can tell and they’re on 12 now hahaha … lazy company but a cult following has kept them alive … the Action 4 is clearly better in all aspects …

wait is the magnetic mount the only option? I use mine on a chin mount on a dirt bike helmet, not sure a magnetic mount would be sufficient in keeping the camera there?

Great comparison... one important note. Action 4 DOES NOT have GPS either. What Action 4 has is the ability to connect to a remote control with GPS sold separately that allows Action 4 to record the GPS data from the remote (not the camera, the remote... so it won't help if trying to record the speed of a drone etc.). There is no internal GPS in either the GoPro Hero 12 or Action 4.

After watching your video and listen to all the comparisons and aspects the way you have exposed it, I will have to change after using GoPro for over 10 years def you are right and clever showing this true aspects, thanks for this video and for the information very on point.

I do think the image quality is actually better on the GoPro, outdoors it seems to handle dynamic range, shadows, and skintones a lot better. But the DJI is more usable and reliable it seems... Ahh, i dunno.

I used gopro 10 with mic adapter as vlog camera in vietnam trip after i check my footage in couple days there no audio i was so mad and i see action 4 does not have to put any adapter which is interesting i m going to move dji action camera
