What if Christina started the house fire to draw attention from herself? She already seemed in a bad mental state. The insurance policies could have been planned before the marriage. It would make sense for Christina to attempt to kill Jack, burn the house down after failing the attempt, and then goes off to kill herself. Ronald and Jack could've predicted these events and instead of taking advantage of her mental state, they let it play out.

I think, Christina knew Ronald and Jack were more than friends, she already suffered with mental health and had confided in Ronald, Ronald knew she was suicidal so told Jack to put a life insurance on her. i will say, i take Codeine for pain, and a decent amount of it.

a side effect of codeine is that is depresses your respiratory system (makes breathing harder, slower, and you do it less than you might need).
i personally have experienced this, and it would definitely make it easier to drown someone. it would certainly make it so they wouldnt be able to fight back nearly as well at least. it makes me somewhat loopy and dazed. this is also an effect of the breathing thing.

Ronald and Jack were definitely together and used Christina as a beard (likely without her knowledge, or at least, she knew Ronald was gay but didn't know he was involved with Jack). She probably had mental health issues and when she found out about the affair, it worsened her mental health state, and either she killed herself out of despair/shame/anger or decided to go through with it because of it. Ronald probably got the letters because he knew they would be suspects.
