Apple has always killed every iPhone with the release of updates. The phone stopped feeling as planned. For example, iPhone 4s on iOS 5-6 works like a Swiss watch and looks great. However, the lags and design of ios 7,8,9 make the phone ordinary and does not cause feelings of nostalgia anymore.
Okay, I'll give you an example of not only the classics - iPhone 6s with 3d touch. They killed their own technology with the release of ios 11 and made it at the software level. The great difference between mechanical 3d Touch and software. Then it was a feature that worked in its own way, now it's a normal function that just works. I hope you could understand my message.

What Apple did to the 4s is the cause of them losing customers to Android devices. iOS 16 has come out and there is no reason why a 6s or 7 cannot run it. Apple makes nice products overpriced and then they make road apples too....just saying from experience: PowerMac G5 left for dead after 8 months....

I use my iPhone 4S on 9.3.6 Although many apps are not supported anymore, I can still text, facetime, and browse the internet even though some websites are broken.

The iPhone 4s I still have one now just for music and few photos and videos

They should of kept this phone and the ipads on 8.4.1 which doesn't run that bad on them they is still stutter but nothing major and nearly all the apps download an older version like Facebook Netflix and others.

im using the 4s as a daily driver mostly, on ios 9. its slow but it still works for some reason

I have exclusively used Android since 2013, and I...kinda miss my 4S. It was my first smartphone and it really did blow me away. It pained me to watch it go from this powerful piece of magitech to a glorified paperweight over the course of a few years. To me, it felt like an intentional and concerted effort to force me to buy a newer phone...so I did. I got a Galaxy S3 and haven't looked back towards Apple ever again. So I guess I have them to thank for pushing me towards a more open platform with superior options and functionality. All of that said, there's a part of me that pines for the sleek presentation, fluidity, and simplicity of my old 4S running iOS 6. I know iOS 8 and 9 are the truly reviled updates, but iOS 7 is what truly killed my 4S and made it nearly unusable. And with no way to roll back the update and iOS 8 exacerbating the problem, I had no choice but to upgrade and I know I didn't want to support Apple after that. The part that really stings is Android is continuing to move towards a more "streamlined" design philosophy, cutting out useful software and hardware features that made me fall in love with my Galaxy S3, so the lines between these operating systems are becoming more blurred and your choice less important than it used to be. If I didn't have to give up my 4S as a part of the upgrade process, I'd be supremely interested in rolling it back to iOS 6 somehow and remembering what it was like. See just how much we've lost.

iphone 4s was upgraded to brick it lol and make u buy a new phone. imagine if you were told when you bought a phone that in 2 years it will start to slow down, 3 years the battery wont last more than 45min of use, 4 years apps will randomly stop oppening and crash, 5yrs it will slow down extremely beyond use, 6 years it will be locked out of all apps, 7yrs its cell service will be canceled with 5g (all 3g turned off)

this video is unnecessarily long and really feels dragging
you literally keep repeating the same thing over and over again and it just kills the pacing of this video
it could've all been easily condensed in a video that'd be like a third of the length of this one

thank god theres a proper ios 6 downgrade for it now using kdfu mode

You’re right, my main iPhone 4s got updated to iOS 9 I still own and it sucks, but thanks God I also own 2 on iOS 6 and 1 on iOS 7, btw iOS 7 runs very very smooth.
