My grandpa sadly lost a leg in that war. And he was only 18! Imagine losing a leg right after becoming an adult, i mean at that time in southern Asia, 18 wasn’t even considered an adult! Anyway so thats how my grandpa lost a leg.

My Indian Grandfather was there to train mukti vahini

In the Bangladesh liberation war my dad was still in my grandmothers stomach. During the war a soldier came up to her and pointed a gun. I think he was going to shoot but somebody came and hit him with a milk tin and she escaped. If it wasn’t for the person that hit the solider with a milk tin my grandma would have died so my father would have died aswell meaning I wouldn’t be here right now typing this. This might sound funny with the milk tin but it is serious.

My grandfather was one of the bravest freedom fighter, he trained peoples during 1971 war. He was a BDR officer. He died recently may Allah bless his soul. ❤

Bro I'm sorry but the Indians here trying to claim this as their victory is really fuckin annoying. We were not a helpless desolate people that needed "saving". This was our liberation struggle. It was our Mukti Bahini who gave their lives and blood for our freedom. It's that blood that marks the red spot of our country's flag. Yes, India helped and of course we are grateful. But it was our people -- students, youth, every day Bengalis -- who took up arms and built our resistance force from the ground up. I have absolute respect for the Indian soldiers who helped and gave their lives. But the ones trying to dominate and make this whole struggle about them don't understand our history and why we broke from Pakistan in the first place.

And came to their hometown she fed them and gave shelter
She was kind of a helper for the freedom fighters and survivors running for their lives
