I think it's a very bad idea to build a bridge from Alaska to Russia

This project would of been a money spinner for russia connecting europe with america through russia and asia .passengers and freight 4 lines.the only way this will ever happen is if russia gets rid of autocracy then companies abroad and governments will be willing to also invest in this long term project.

I’ve seen videos of a proposal to connect northern Japan with that part of Russia and I think building a physical connection between Japan and the US via Russia would be more feasible. But by all accounts, geopolitics would have to be put aside to make a Bering Strait connection possible and that would be a much bigger obstacle than the ones described in this video

Let's build bridges not walls! Why not? Put down your nukes and put aside your political/religious differences, Humans live on planet earth not individual countries. Open borders will occur!

Really, why hasn't it been built yet?

Aside from the minor fact that it would cost over $100 Billion dollars to do it, there is like 12 people that love in the area. It's not exactly a dense populated part of the world. It would be a massive waste of money & time.

Let's see, we could have maglev trains travel in a vacuum near the speed of sound (767 mph) traveling across the world in a 24hr period. This connection would become a prolific feat of logistics in merely every industry. It would also create more access to other countries which might in turn generate greater global cooperation.

In reality we build the Alcan highway, the Alaska permanent fund has $65.5 billion to invest, connecting the Atlantic to the Pacific another shipping route through Northwest passage. This is completely doable and they will do it China has already built a railroad over the top of the world, Alaska is poised for world commerce. Don’t let the negativity discourage you from this project, the plans have already been drawn, permits have already been given through Canada,

It’s not going to happen. We can’t even get a road to Juneau, Cordova, or Nome built! And I’ve been to the town of Wales when I worked at the Tin City radar site that’s just miles from Big Diomede. It’s an impoverished village of some 150 people that don’t even have electricity or running water in their homes and empty their poop buckets in a swamp in town stinking up the whole place.

Ah! I see someone else noticed the connection. Yes people did migrate through this area.
It is also my belief that they still traded between the two continents around the time of the Egyptian empire.
This is why the pyramids are similar, the use of pi and cocaine was discovered in the mummified remans of Egyptian pharos.

Building land mass would be even easier. Just look how much sand you can pick up from any possible place on Earth. Why is land mass even better idea? Because it would stop global warming through Bering strain. There are two places where North pole gets its hot water. One is between Iceland and Scotland where hot water flows to Norway and Svalbard making huge damage to North pole ecosystem of water that should be below 0°C but gets unfortunatlly temperature of water up to 8°C. Other is Bering strain. Just think how good it would be to stop the hot current from flowing in North pole near Bering. It would reduce the global warming from 30-50% atleast and that project would only cost making huge mass of 80kilometers sand or rocky mass with after layering of mass in its width.

2 layers of tracks >> 1 layer for vehicle traffic, about 3 lanes each direction, lower layer for railway traffic, 2 lanes for both direction. But is there a demand of traffic in this location other than the novelty of crossing the continents and time line?
