Bro is making sure to come back fully fit and dominate the 2025 season.
Already won the Olympics gold for which he was waiting his whole life. Nothing left to prove. He's the undisputed GOAT of tennis.
Next year he'll come back fully fit just to win atleast one more Wimbledon to make it 8 Wimbledon titles and 25 slams just to put a full stop to the grass surface record. Last year he was injured and still made the finals of the Wimbledon. An injury free fully motivated Novak will definitely be a different gravy altogether.

Cam, Djokovic did already qualify for the ATP Finals and so has Ruud. The only ones left to race for the 8th spot were Rublev and De Minaur and there are only 2 250 tournaments left, but yeah, now that Nole has withdrawn they will both qualify.

He is never going to play another ATP Final. He wants to go out having won his last Final.

I think he only went to Shanghai because of contractual obligations to one (or more) of his sponsors. Not because he was motivated to win a masters 1000. I think he had no intention to play any tournaments after the US Open.

He needs to get that knee sorted, He has not rested it since the operations and he is still wearing support which means that it is not fully healed, Better to skip Bercy and finals and be fully healthy for AO. He already stated that he was no longer interested in those two tournaments,, People need to actually listen to his words, He told them!!

I honestly thought he would play but in hindsight it’s not too surprising. He said his only real goal for this year was Olympic Gold and he did it. I think he might try for one more Slam next year and probably retire at the end of the year.

Djokovic has said again and again in 2024 that his goals were Olympics Gold Medal in Singles, Grand Slams and representing Serbia in Davis Cup and other tournaments with national teams. His biggest goal of 2024 was to win the Olympics Gold Medal in Singles. Goal achieved. Now, he wants full recovery in time for AO 2025.

He withdrew from Paris Masters & ATP Finals because of 1 thing...He CANNOT win them

It's amusing reading here various comments about Djole - he will be playing, he won't be playing, he is dropping in different ranking etc.......all i can see is that most of the "audience" is not closely following Djole. He said SEVERAL months ago (!) that he will be closing out his competitive career -- i.e. start skipping tournaments and playing here and there "for fun"......he added that ranking is no longer his goal ( obviously since he won't be playing as much as in the past)....we can wish him good health and occasional appearance FOR FUN - HIS FUN is OUR FUN!! THANKS DJOLE for BRILlIANT CAREER AND LOT OF FUN!!!

The end of an era is upon us...no Federer,no Rafa,no Nole anymore in the Nitto finals...there are so many great young players taking over the new era in tennis and just hope they can bring the same excitement as the Big Three did... :)))
