Arguably he has the best first touch of all time. Combined with his vision, a very deadly combination.
Also part of the strongest Arsenal team of all time. Yet they failed to win the Champions League.

Dennis is the type of person, who tends to UNDERSTAND things. This video shows exactly that, he understands the law of physics and movement of the ball. It seems like, before he touch the ball, he wants the ball to be placed at that exact spot, and he already know which side of the ball he has to touch, along with how much power does his touch needed. This is a figure of GENIUS. Due to this ability to understand the ball, he can always be one step ahead of everybody around him. For example, if he facing a goal and there's a ball in the air coming towards him, you CAN'T know what he going to do. The opposition's GK can't predict what he's going to do. Will he control the ball? Will he take a volley? Will he simply touch the ball and does a lofted through pass to his teammates? He is GK's nightmare. That's why in this video also shows that many goal of his looks so easy and almost looks like the GK was stunned and did nothing? Yes, Ladies and Gentleman, and that is why, DENNIS BERGKAMP is dangerous. HE is a MAGICIAN, ONE of the BEST EVER.

Wenger revolutionised the premier league with diet, training, tactics, mentality etc. and Bergkamp was central to instilling that.

Bergkamp is a true great for what he did and how he did it.

Poetry in motion

For many years now, I've been looking for the video of a play I'm quite sure I witnessed live from the 1998 World Cup by Denis. I can't recall which game it was but I think it was early. I was watching the game at a sports with co-workers here in the US and this is what I remember. One of the defenders booted a long, high clearing kick (over half the pitch) that wasn't meant to be a pass that Denis chased down on the right wing, and as the ball came down he misjudged it by just a little bit and had to sort of stretch his leg out at the last possible second in order to PERFECTLY, and I do mean PERFECTLY trap the ball against the ground as if it hadn't been in violent motion a nano-second earlier. The ball just stopped moving under his foot like magic. I recall the broadcasters marveling at the play and saying he was the only player in the world that could pull that off as they replayed it 3 or 4 times for all to admire.

I don't think there was a goal or anything memorable that happened after that remarkable trap so it doesn't seem to make many highlight reels nor be worthy of a standalone video apparently. But does anybody remember what I'm talking about and recall which game (1998 World Cup) and around what minute this happened?

He should have won the World Cup with The Netherlands in 1998, when they lost undeservedly to Brazil in the semi's. In that case I'm sure he wouldn't have been under rated and would have gotten the reckognision he deserves as such a brilliant player.
