The All New Snap-on Triton D10 Scan Tool: How Does It Compare To ZEUS & As A Standalone?

I am researching scanners and I feel like my best bet is a new launch torque link or topdon smart and a used snap-on Verus edge with latest 23 update. I’ll spend about 3600ish for both.

Is topology worth having? which scanners have topology? My XTool D9 has topology and I love it but it is hot garbage when it comes to I/M readiness monitors, most of the time it doesn't even have an option to show it or it's just flat out wrong! Evap says it's complete but then I hook up my boss's Modis and it isn't complete. I'm looking for a new scanner

Techs- run away from snapon scanners !!! Please trust me

I will never buy a SnapOn scan tool again. I paid almost 3k for mine. It has less functionality than its competitors and SnapOn quit supporting it after only 5 years. I can get a brand new Autel for about 1300 bucks and it does more. Considering the Autel cost about as much as an update for the SnapOn tool, it doesn’t really matter if they ever quit supporting it because I don’t have to shell out several grand to get the latest version.

Another thing look at the amount it cost for those upgrades the sure track is only good for 30 days when you get the scan but why would you pay for sure track when you have Mitchell or identifix or All data hello is all money with snap On Autel give you one years upgrades anda lot better diagnostic info than them

Maybe you sure try some thing different like Autel Ultra, you will be surprice of what that tool can do way 10000 times more than snap on a lot more information and pits that snap on do not have dont be blinded by Snap on logo I have both and and my Autes eat the snap on I will do say there is a good source of info but not as good as they claim

The Zeus is an overpriced scanner that auto populates TSB's. I bought an XTOOL D9 pro that does way more. It was $1400. It doesn't matter what snap on scanner, the software is the same in every one. Smart track is a waste of money.

I wounder if you can help me out , I just bought used zeus , it came with car charger cable only (12V from cig. ligher ) , I want to get replacement power supply but what voltage ? if you can check your charger voltage for me please mate (the output voltage written on sticker )

I have a triton d10 but you really should look into something like an autel ms906 pro. You can get it for around $1500 and it has SO much more functionality than a snap on scan tool. It’s definitely worth having around as it can get you out of a jam with some of the things it can do.

I have zeus and the scope section is so much better than triton hands down.

do you ever lose fast track when the scanner is out of its life cycle or when you miss an update?

I've gone 2 years without an update on my edge, lost the ability to disengage parking brake service mode on subarus. So much functionality just disappeared. Why in the world would I update to a Zeus when for the same price I can get a scanner with full functionality with topology scanning with 2 years updates (reliable updates that are seamless)for 2500$ and a pico 4 channel scope with vertical and horizontal markers, 720deg built in overlays for in cylinder pressure testing and a tone of testing tricks up its sleeve with endless online training?

Does anyone work on GM?, Ford?, anyone ?

Do I have to update my snap on scanner every year. I’m wanting to use it for reading motor and transmission codes and live data. I know updates will let me access newer models and such. Can I get away with a update every 3-4 years I have the Soulus Edge

Great presentation. I have two questions.

Is the Triton D8 and/or D10 bidirectional (Maybe its assumed? Im VERY new with computer stuff and new cars.)

Why do so many forums, non-affiliated, non-retail sites bash on Snapon diags? Particularly the guided component stuff. Maybe its the boomer mentality of job security. a computer telling them hints, probable causes, or maybe just competing with newer kids that can now start working on jobs that were once reserved to them? I personally LOVE this kind of thinking, that can make tinkering on one's own car easier, and more accessible, and less intimidating to some 18yo with his car (chances are an old beater but still OBD era). In the end, it keeps car culture alive, as well as train future master techs.

I just saw now lots of people dont like the Triton. (Just to be clear, not accusing anyone of anything, just trying to be informed before I go one route or another with diag tools)

How would you rate any benefit of Zeus over the triton d10 outside of 2 and 4 channel scope?

Unrelated but- could you do a video on the new 2.4turbo FA24 engine. Which oil & filter you recommend, any issues, etc. I’ve been using Wix 57055XP oil filters.

I know your a Snap On guy....Has any company like Autel or Launch sent you any of their products to test out. I definitely can't afford Snap On and personally think they are over priced for the DIYer..

Hey Mr Subaru can you do a video on Subaru torque bind??? I have a 2004 outback and a 1998 legacy gt limited both with torque bind, putting the fuse in the fwd solves the problem on both vehicles! So my research has led me to the transfer clutch pack.

I think after i sold my old modis, i will be going with a autel scanner or auto enginuity. I havent been that impressed with snap on's scan tools over the years, granted i haven't used anything outside of the old first gen modis and modis ultra.

I could buy a lot of tools with the $$$ for that. Software based on engine definitions. SATA needs to stop making cheap tools and make hardware...when China can manufacture the chipsets. I worked in a manufacturing facility that would have to fly in Bosch engineers to work on manufacturing equipment. You couldn't get past the German. Well, I'm telling everyone, "Mr Subaru made me do it", because I hit the buy button on a haul of German tools. I won't use them if they were all chrome polished.

Just picked up the Triton D8 for half price a month ago, probably because this one released. I don’t regret it a bit, but If I couldn’t get it at half price I’d go with the Launch/Matco
