5600x vs 5700x vs 5800X3D - Gaming Benchmarks Included!

I'm not a gamer (yet)... I'm a graphic artist who uses my computer for Photoshop and Photography... but my current build was before the 7 series came out... I chose the 5 5600X and think I paid about $220(?)... 32gb DDR4 3600/18... and the EVGA 2060 KO Ultra (with the 2080 chipset)... 2 x 1tb NVME... on the ASUS ROG Strix B-550-F Gaming... I have to admit it plays World of Planes / Tanks reasonably well... and the 2060 KO holds it's own **for a non-gamer**👍

in the uk the 5700x currently costs the same as the 5600x so im going to get the 5700x

Your getting a GPU bottleneck at 1440p due to the 3070. In order to benchmark 1440p you should really get a better card

You didn't really pick something that really presses cpu's man.
Meaning of course the three games shown.
Hogwarts Legacy doesn't really know how to take advantage of many threads.

how can be the 5600x faster than 5700x? on 1%low

I am running a 5600X with a 6600XT and it runs preety good. I wan't to try the 7800XT. I hope the 5600X is enough for that GPU.

upgraded from a 3600 to 5700x when I bought myself a nice 4070 and 1440 monitor, and it's wonderful! runs cool so no need for an expensive/beefy cooler, gives great performance, fit in my old mobo no worries, and very affordable! really great thus far!

Pretty terrible benchmarks. We want to test the CPU's so that's why we put all the graphical settings on to make sure our GPU is the bottleneck...

If this was a real test you'd never go above 1080p and put all settings on low.

Hello brother, may I ask what amd agesa version is stable for ryzen 7 5700x?

Is my 3600 causing my boot time to be so slow if I have Windows and the game on a NVMe drive, and have a 6700 xt with 32gb of ram. My 850 PSU is enough I know.
Basically it’s between my motherboard (B550 Prime plus) or my 3600 CPU

spending 487 dollars in a motherboard is waste of money

The 5800x3D brought new life into my System.

i went from a 5600x to the 5800x3D.

Paired with a RX6800, 32gb Ram and B450 F2 Gaming.
At 1440p this performs amazing.

But i was also lucky enough to get this cpu for only 185 bucks via a family member that works in an Electronics store. So if i werent that lucky i probably would have went with the 5700x.

i think you shouldve used the dlss feature at 1440p as it renders a lower resolution thus putting more load on the cpu

I recently upgraded from a 3600 to a 5700x. I got it on sale for about $160 before tax.

I just ordered a 5700x... Picked it up for $180 usd. I already have a 5600x so not much game improvement but I'm keen to see how the extra cores work in my audio production software (Ableton Live 11).

Really wish you tested using a higher end card, like a 3090 at minimum, as we're looking for a raw performance difference between these CPUs... Especially that in a few years from now future GPUs would render a 3070 as low end.

I paired a 4080 with a 5600x because i didnt think i would need anything more. And truth be told, i dont. Every game has been running great at 4k60. But im gonna invest in an OLED soon, so i might bite the bullet and buy a 5800x3d. Yeah i know the gains are minimal, probably a waste of $300, but it might allow me to sleep better at night lol

5600x to 5700x doesnt have that much performance gain in most games BUT its more future proof and it helps a lot a guy like me that likes to game with a browser on with a bunch of tabs open.

if the x3d can keep the lows high, it will mean more conistency and stability in ur aim because u get less stutter

i got this used pc for 500 euros this is what it contains

gigabyte b550 gaming x v2
5600x
32gb ram
1tb m2
and a 1080ti

i sold the 1080ti for 175 euro, as i already had a 1080ti from my own rig, so i got this pc for 325 euros... can easily sell it for at least 650 plus 175 for the gpu with it thats 825. thats a decent profit. but im not gonna sell it though, this cpu is truly the best bang for the buck atm.

Getting 5800x3D only makes sense for higher tier GPUs like 3090 and above, otherwise a 5700x will do the same FPS

i just about have the same setup as the video except i have a 3070ti and i cant reach 100 fps with your settings on fornite even on low settings

I have a gtx 1660 super and been thinking of upgrading my cpu. I'm thinking one of these: ryzen 5 3600, ryzen 5 5600x, or ryzen 7 5700x. Which one should I go with? Or should I go with a different one?

I love my 5700X. The high performance with low TDP sold me on upgrading with my entry level B450 mobo. I hope to live to see another platform as solid as AM4.

Ahhh that 3070 isn't going to let you maximise the 5800X3D the GPU at 1080P will still be limiting what you can get out the CPU. From memory based on HUBs 5800X vs 5800X3D tests showed something like a 35% average FPS increase and 25% or so in the 1% lows when using a 3090 class card. A 80 series and above GPU will get considerably more out of the GPU than the other non X3D chips. When DLSS or FSR2 upscaling is used to bump FPS at 4K you can get a hell of a lot of more perf than you would with the other CPUs and when RT is also involved that becomes very important.

I am glad that you did not do common mistake that lot of reviewers do and did not try to pair mid (or even low) tier part ... here CPU .... with rest of the PC being top notch. No one would realistically buy pc like that. You build what audience really will consider and therefore whole test is much more accurate. Thanks.
