That's a bucket list trip I must have. I've already been to Russia and will eventually be there again since I'm married to a Russian citizen. For the time being, I can just get mesmerised at the incredible breathtaking view the trans Siberian train ride provides. I've been dreaming for so long to travel across this railroad!

I made this trip back in 1987. Back then it was really simple and no alcohol served. The food was to put it mildly, bearable. But apart from that, the scenery is what makes this trip worth it. We travelled 1st class and it was fine but nothing luxurious. Still a very memorable trip I'd take again.

I found this video very unexpectedly. Memories flooded. Many years ago I lived in Mongolia and traveled this way several times, I am very proud that I had a possibility to experience this. My dream would be to repeat this, but world is changing......very sad.

Who would have thought a train documentary would be so amazing.
The train journey reminded me of what passengers get on a cruise ship, stopping off at important places and being shown local cultures.
I'd imagine there'd be a long waiting list for this train journey.

Thanks for sharing! Sorry but i wouldn’t be seen dead on this journey or train! Train is pre-historic, towns it goes through are rubbish. Not even pure Russians like Russia! Go on Bernina express & Glacier express Switzerland, they’re train journeys & classy! I came back to edit, there was a Mongolian restaurant in Melbourne Aust, everyone ended up in hospital, i think one person died from their clean food. Oh and Lake Baikal, did you like the water haha, below par landscape all the way! Now if someone came out with an AK 47, might have seen some action haha!
