I had samsung and an official earphone slowly the sounds and footstep were lost day by day. Sometime enemy is 2 meter behind and no footstep . Then i change my phone to iphone 13 pro max borrowed an original earphone and again same problem in playing mode footstep are lost but in spectate mode we can listen to the footstep 10 15 meters and even the car sound also the same i think my pubg id has some problems😊

It does matter, with phone speaker only being on one side you can't tell the difference between right to left foot patter, but with them on it creates a surround sound effect where when they're on the left side, only the left headphone will make sound and vice versa. ✌️ Hope this also helps.
