Why CDs Are Still the BEST Way to Listen to Music

Right on brother! CDs are the best imo and I’ve been ripping them as flac and putting them on my phone or mp3 player and still sounds better than streaming to me. I’ve been getting into cassettes again to lol.

I have far too many CDs but it's great for rediscovering music that has been forgotten. I also have vinyl - look after and it will sound great. Spotify is the instant coffee of music but for a good listen it's always been CD until fast internet speeds and streaming. If you can't listen to CDs in your truck.... you can get a small FM transmitter which you can plug your CD player of phone into and tune the truck radio into.... works fine until you pass some one else doing the same!!

You are absolutely correct!!! I was one of those that listened to the whole album and reading the liner notes and looking at the pictures😂😂 finding out who the producer and who was the engineer and what special guest star might be on the album and also the pictures and the sound quality of a CD so I will take a physical copy of either an album or a CD as opposed to streaming where you don't get to hold it in your hand!!!! I agree totally.. I prefer cd’s as well. I’ve been collecting them since they came out. I too have cd’s from bands from back in the day that just don’t exist anymore. I’m 64 now and have a decent collection, and as a bass player, imo they are the best tool to use for practicing purposes when learning a song.

CDS ARRIVED IN THE MID 80S BECAUSE OF VINYL ANALOG INFERIORITY. IN EVERY AREA. SKIPPING AND WARPING OF EVEN NEW VINYL. CONTINUAL DEGRADATION WITH REGULAR LP PLAYBACK VS NONE WITH LASER BASED DIGITAL CDS. MUCH LESS SPACE NEEDED TO STORE A LARGE CD COLLECTION VS BUCKLING WALL SHELVES AND MILK CRATES EVERYWHERE WITH A LARGE LP COLLECTION. THE NEED TO DUPLICATE LPS ONTO TAPE AND LATER FILES FOR PORTABLE PLAYBACK VS EASY CAR CD PLAYER PORTABILITY. BEYOND THE ANALOG VS DIGITAL APPLES AND ORANGES DEBATE CD WINS HANDS DOWN. NO CONTEST. CDS ORIGINALLY OVERPRICED BUT NOW DRASTICALLY LOWER IN PRICE THAN VINYL. I HAVE CDS NEARLY 40 YEARS OLD THAT PLAY LIKE NEW. VERY LITTLE MAINTENANCE BEYOND CLEANING AND PROPER HANDLING AND STORAGE.. TRY CONTINUALLY PLAYING A 40 YEAR OLD VINYL LP REGARDLESS OF THE HIGH QUALITY EQUIPMENT BEING USED. VINYL IS THE DOMAIN OF DIEHARD LUDITES AND YOUNG FANS OF THIS INHERENTLY FLAWED FORMAT WHO WEREN'T AROUND IN THE LATE 70S AND EARLY 80S WHEN CDS OVERTOOK AND REPLACED A CLEARLY INFERIOR FORMAT IN SOUND PORTABILITY AND STORAGE. YOUTH HAVE BEEN SOLD A BILL OF GOODS AND A LIE. IT NEVER GOT BETTER THAN THE CD AND TRYING TO IMPROVE ON THE LAST HANDS ON COLLECTIBLE FORMAT IS LIKE TRYING TO REINVENT AND IMPROVE UPON THE WHEEL. DESPERATE TO HANG ONTO A ROMANTICIZED BUT VERY FLAWED FORMAT YET BY CONTRAST WOULDN'T BE HAPPY WITH A FLIP PHONE AND SOMEHOW TRYING TO MERGE OLD RETRO VINYL TECHNOLOGY WITH THE LATEST IN I-PHONE TECHNOLOGY. DOESNT MAKE MUCH SENSE
