So.... 3 or 4 juveniles with cameras standing on a platform rail-fanning - quietly mind you - are "trespassing" and "giving blowback." Nothing said about the adults behind them running across the track trying to beat the oncoming train. Seems to me the adults were the trespassers and the juveniles did nothing wrong.

Personally If I was trespassing I would leave asap but since yall aint trespassing Id stay just to see what happens for the fuck of it lol.

Ive had the cops call on me for railfanning outside a crossing before because me and my friend were trackside to a crossing with no adult supervision and I did have my camera around my next and was using it at times to make sure my settings were good. When the cop realized we were not trespassing and were a good distance from the tracks, she said “Yall got called in for possible suicidal” like Ive hear of a kid take pictures of trains and suicide makes sense 🤦🏻

I’m assuming that Carlsbad Village is probably a spot for “ticketed passengers only” as a reason to prevent the homeless, but it does also include railfanning.

I was the test engineer that put Metrolink in service, and ran the first train to turn a wheel at start up morning, train 100 out of Moorpark. I grew up around the SP at Lancaster. I railfaned and railroaded all my life. I was in engine service 36 years. What's wrong with these characters? He wasted the DS time crying about some people with cameras. He's lucky I wasn't his Road Foreman.

Station platforms are for passengers and crew members only so unless you bought a ticket to get on a train you have no business being there

The station is public property, and anyone can take videos of trains if they want to. If anything, he should be yelling at those people who crossed the tracks seconds before the train went by.

I would like to report to Amtrak that one of there engineers on an Amtrak surf liner train passing Carlsbad village framed some railfans for trespassing when they were just watching trains. Whoever it was that reported you guys SCREW HIM

Careful. A lot of stations have signage that says "only ticketed passengers allowed on platform" Mostly its a legal way to kick the homeless off the property but by the letter of the law, if you don't have a ticket, you're trespassing, railfanning included.

If you were on the platform, then there’s no reason why he should have yelled at you. This is unlike another video where two people were trying to ask for a horn show and also got flipped off, but they were standing close to the railroad tracks instead.

You're not the only rail fan who's been reported by this engineer I've gotten reported by him too and I told the police that I was just rail Fanning and they left me alone and he actually got fired for it

It maybe was the people who crossed the tracks or it was actually yall probaly cuz the description says it but ya i counted 4 people at the start where they crossed the tracks and they said that its 4 people and idk how many were there but yea

some of the san diego trolley operators down here are even worse. i remember filming in el cajon and an operator literally slowed down, turned on the PA and ordered me to get off the tracks before he “called people”.
