its beautiful and i do wish they go on a world tier as i would honestly love to go to their concerts.

dear good kid, i'm so glad i found you- you're my comfort artist for when i feel upset, thank you so much for making this comforting home for the lost and the misfits, here's to the good kids club (which is gonna be my unofficial fan name for us fans haha) and here's to the year ahead, please remember that if you ever have a bad day- keep your heads up, you're making a huge difference for so many.
with love, Luna
i watched the owl house a while back, this song brought back the feelings i had after finishing the series, emptiness, good job Good Kid, you made a song so good i left me feeling empty after finishing it, but in a way that's good, means its so good it left me yearning for more
Ответитьmic effect and your voice in general definitely gives solid sufjan stevens vibes
ОтветитьI love all of your songs
ОтветитьNo doubt that this is my literal favorite song because my name is Madeline which is just one Letter off from the song name
ОтветитьI really mean it when I say this song saved my life. It’s incredible how a piece of media can change someone’s whole mental state, I was the saddest I had ever been in my life but somehow the song made me feel good enough to want to continue
Thank you good kid
On my last day of high school, I had been planning to ask this girl out. We had sat next too each other the whole year and my crush had been steadily growing all that time. I had been psyching myself up for weeks, thinking of when to pull her aside, how to phrase my question, and how to react to whatever response I received, but when the last day came, the last day I would ever see her, I just couldn't bring myself do it. I left that class without even saying goodbye to her. I felt really terrible about it, apparently to a visible degree, as some of my tablemates in my next class asked what was up. As it turned out, one of them was friends with her, and very much in favor of the idea. She suggested I ask her out via Instagram DM instead. After much coaxing from her and other friends at that table, I sent her a simple message asking her if she wanted to do anything with me over the summer, and apologizing for my shitty goodbye. I then turned my phone off and tried in vain to forget about it. The rest of my periods that day didn't involve much real work, it being the last day of school and all, so I turned to music as a distraction. However, the slow, downbeat music I usually listened to was incongruous with my nervous mood at the time. It felt oddly grating- so I tried something else. I had found Good Kids music some weeks earlier and enjoyed it fine, but it hadn't really clicked- until then. The fast, almost frantic rythm of so many of their songs were in sync with my anxious energy, and channeled it into something exciting and fun. I went through each album in order, one song after another. Imagine my surprise in finding, at the end of the very last album, a song entitled "Madeline," the name of the girl I had asked out. The lyrics didn't make sense to me, they still don't entirely, but the feeling it gave me, that made sense. I started the discography again, but while I was listening to Nomu, or Alchemist, or Witches, I was thinking about Madeline. On my way home, it was Madeline I played while I opened Instagram with slightly shaking fingers to see that she had responded. It was Madeline I heard when I saw that she had said yes.
We've been messaging constantly all throughout the summer. We've both been busy with work and various trips, but we just landed on a date sometime next week to do something. I'm still not sure if she actually likes me in that way, and even if she does, it can't last. We're going to college in different states. That's okay though. Even if it never goes any further than it already has, its still been an amazing experience. I've continued listening to Madeline through it all. Lying awake at night, taking long evening walks, considering how to respond to her latest message. Even though the song itself has ultimately had no direct effect on how things played out, I just can't imagine a version of these events without it.
So thanks, Good Kid. Thanks for Madeline.
ahhhhhh
Ответитьi didnt see this one coming
ОтветитьThis is my fave song of all time good kid never fails to put out amazing songs but this helps me sleep and relax its like a warm embrace from a love one resanating through my ears
ОтветитьThis song is so soothing and has really grown on me the more I listen to it. Good kid has quickly become one of my favorite bands.
Ответитьthis song brings me so much comfort. i wish someone would write me a song as beautiful as this one 🫶
ОтветитьDuring your first tour I was there when you sang Madeleine to us. When "I'll go wherever you go." started up I was transported back to the venue when you asked the audience ALONE to sing that part. It makes me wish we had a variant of this song with the audience singing. Thanks for reminding me of a good time.
Ответить"Hey you wanna think about love?"
Me: no-
Brain:-yes torture him
breki tem um bom gosto para músicas.
ОтветитьAfter learning the meaning behind the song, I have to say, I got chills at the end. And I'm not upset.

ОтветитьHey guys. Come back to Georgia we miss you already.
Ответитьplease teach me how to sing like you do! I would love to know how you get your voice to get to those pitches
ОтветитьWhenever you guys perform at Madison Square Garden, I'll be there front row.
ОтветитьI remember in like late 2021 my brother introduced me to this band and man. It's been my favourite since, my favourite song out of all of them was witches, I think this song just took 2nd place.
ОтветитьI know what this song is meant to be about. But the lyrics hit me in a way of thinking about my past, "lost your hair to shame and so much gum" don't even get me started on the amount of bullying I went through in elementary and middle school. Losing myself to people pleasing to the point where when I was trying to heal and put myself back together (still am btw) I didn't fully know who I was. "And then when we were older, there were miles between " I very sadly had to move far away from my close childhood friends, I completely forgot to keep in contact with them all so those friendships are older, plus I don't trust myself enough to not treat them the way I did when I was younger... "Madeleine who lost the earth Made it out by noon The sun had shined the earth as well Her eyes were two half moons" during said move over the pandemic, a depressive episode hit me like a truck, I felt like my brain had fallen off the world and my body was just on autopilot, sometimes big emotions would bring my brain back... I also just associate this lyric with stars, space and my obsession with it (you might call it a special interest) and celestial witchery! .. I might just make an animatic, write a book even!! this song is very comforting and sounds amazing. This band has no bad song <<3 (you're also the only band I can confidently show my parents due to lack of swearing) ☆
ОтветитьI love this song so much. I have been listening to it on repeat ever since it came out. It reminds me so much of my sister, she even shares her names with the song. The huge age gap between us seperated us, but I still have fond memories of her taking care of me when I was sick or injured as a small child. I wish I was closer with her
ОтветитьThis song consistently hits me right in my heart and makes me cry, its such a beautiful song. Thank you
ОтветитьThis song will always have a special place in my heart because it was released on the day of my Nan's funeral. listening to this song has helped me through the last couple weeks. Thank you for giving us such a beautiful song.
ОтветитьThis is my name….the titles my name!….even though it’s not spelled the same, it is pronounced the same! This is so relaxing and just amazing in general! Good kid never fails to make a song we all know and love.
ОтветитьThis gives me Pox vibes and I'm here for it
ОтветитьNobody is probably going to read this but Ive been a fan of your guys' music since around January 2022. I really like to listen to your songs and i cant get it out of my head for a few weeks when a new song releases. So when i saw that the third EP was released i got excited. I was really enjoying listening to this one too when this song began to play at the end. When it first started i just stopped what i was doing and just had to listen to it since not only was it so good but it sounded so familiar. Halfway through i realized it was one of the songs that was performed at the chicago concert last year and thats why i thought it was familiar. Thank you for not only making this song but for all of your music and incredible live shows. I hope you guys reach even more success as the years go on. Also sorry if this comment didnt make any sense at all.

ОтветитьSo grateful that my girlfriend introduced me to y'all. This is by far my favorite song so far. Such a beautiful melody and vocal delivery. If anyone has figured out how to play this song on the guitar, I'd love to know the chords. I'm not the best at learning by ear lol.
ОтветитьGoddamn, this hurts me on an emotional level I didn’t know existed, especially since the love of my life is also called Madeleine
ОтветитьI love the video game celeste
ОтветитьI can say with full confidence this song made me cry in the middle of my class-
