Wout haves a great heart , as he is great on anny kind of road ! I realy can enjoy attacking riders. Dont like riders hangeing all the time is annothers weels and take the victory on the finnish ! just dont like that kind of riders ;-)

Van Aert and Jonas explain it after the stage, what Jumbo's agenda was..
Van Aert should get the stage (if possible) and Jonas should get Pogacar.
that's is why you saw Jonas going all out. to make sure that Pogacar didn't get any motivation, as it is fr3aking Pogacar.. a bonafide champ.-
so the moment Jonas saw that he was quite ahead of Pogacar on the stage and also heard that Van Aert had the stage win and no threat from others.
he let go...
Jonas Vingegaard was like 15sec ahead and hadn't even reached (the for him) ideal ascent part of the stage, so yeah he was driving fast.
but the stage win was not a priority, it was instead showing the world that Jonas had the world's best teammates.
and also why Jonas said in his speech that Van Aert is the world's best cyclist, as Van Aert is so complete - and something Jonas Vingegaard ain't.
He doesn't have that explosiveness that van Aert has, and even Pogacar has...
Jonas Vingegaard is top nudge at both time-trial and climbing in the mountains... and that is the ideal combo when dealing with a hard TdF.
and yes Jonas would also have won if we removed the teammates

He tried 3 times to gain on Pogacar 11, 18, 20 and managed all these times.
Pogacar tried over & over & over to rally Jonas, and mostly when Jonas was alone and had to close himself.
fx stage12 final climb Pogacar had 3 helpers.. Jonas was all alone..
Same at the critical stage11 where Jonas took a lot of time.. at the final climb 6km.. Jonas was all alone and Pogacar had a helper.. when Jonas attacked it was Pogacars helper that tried to close, but then saw Pogacar had dropped.
I don't remember any moments in TDF2022 where Jonas was in trouble, quite the contrary he often looked more comfortable than Pogacar all the times Pogacar attacked him and Jonas could so easily take his wheel no matter what insane pace Pogacar made. and where everybody else dropped.
Jonas was clearly the strongest rider and would have won if they both had a team or no team..
Jonas was the strongest rider in TDF22 and also the best climber.. so huge Cadeau with the yellow jersey and the Polka dot... right person these jerseys ended up on.

Jonas might have won the tour but Wout was by far the best rider. I would even say he might at this point be at the level of Merckx or maybe even better taken his cross successes. Also a real shout out to Pidcock whom in my opinion was the most underrated rider.

My best friend was a massive jumbo/ wout van aert fan, tragically took his own life earlier this year and never got to witness jumbo in this tour, brings tears to my eyes seeing jumbo win like this :)

What Vingegaard did was to let Wout win the stage. This is what a true team mate is. He knew the race was in the bag. He showed class many times in this tour de France. He won me over.

In fact....Work it out....WHY/HOW come such men that have in recent years WON the TDF from the MTB world? Simple...they converted their skills to the road...
But do you remember Cancarella (aka SPARTACUS) “protesting” with the riders about the cobbles introduced on a TDF stage a few years back? In fact..the SAME cobbles they raced on in the Spring Classics? Mmmm reason? Because in TDF they are wanting the BIG results..however..this (the sport.from humble all day Eurosport coverage.deemed as “boring”) has become BIG and spectators want drama...Pro cyclists like “SPARTACUS” missed the point

This makes me love Wout even more. These guys give everything and cycling teams are amongst the closest groups in sport.

I have not watched the tour for years but watched nearly every day this time around and i have to say kudos to Vingegaard and Pogacar but what van Aert did over those 3 weaks is just on another level to me. Seemed like he needed no rest days or ppl to cover him at all. Beeing able to lead your Captain into the third incredible hard mountain of the day and distance his rival as a "sprinter" almost was unfair to my untrained eye :P

Best 1, 2 punch in bike racing I've seen in a long time. I thought Pogacar was unbeatable, but I was so wrong.

Vingegaard and his team are just well prepared for each stint. To days ago even Jonas after the stint prepared for today and has been through the route several times to study it. So stop all these drug team comments.

Hopefully a police raid will hit Jumbo Visma by the end of the year or next season. Ridicolous performance of the whole team and the Tour winner is a rider that wasn't a good time trialist in his whole career as a junior and u23 and even in his first two seasons as a pro (as his results clearly prove). Jonas has been the best of the pack and today he just showed why he would have won regardless of everything.
His physical condition was just too good and his mental condition was even better.
