ОтветитьHello there, Samuel! Thank you for concise and abundantly clear demo. I would like to ask you how you get the paint to adhere to the canvas without undertoning? I, as well, prefer using a nice white canvas to begin with -- not only because of the more pleasing appearance but, also, because it saves me from mixing in a certain amount of solvent with the pigment. (I am allergic to solvents.) Any advice on your part would be greatly appreciated! Carol.
ОтветитьSimilar process as me, I tend to sort out overall values with a raw umber underpainting. Thanks for making the video, somewhat jealous of you living in NZ, I went many years ago, but living in Scotland also has its artistic merits!
ОтветитьThis is fantastic
ОтветитьThank you so much for that information, it is so helpful ☺️. I am a part of your Skool monthly membership and I love it! I have learnt more in your live streams then I have in years of trying to figure out how to pint on my own! ❤️
ОтветитьThanks for posting this video with tips to improve your painting....good food for thought as we enter the new year.
ОтветитьThanks for telling us your story. I didn't start painting outdoors until the same age.. good on ya!
ОтветитьI appreciate your videos. You have easy instructions. Thanks.
ОтветитьSpot on with those incites. Thank you so much 🎨
ОтветитьHey 👋 Sam!
I have a couple of questions:
1) Why do you paint “the darks” in such detail and not simply mass in the dark areas?
2) I see a lot of canvas white spots throughout your block in. Why do you not tone your canvas with an overall midtone color?
By the way, your results are fantastic!
You're looking good Samuel, as is your art and advice
ОтветитьExtremely valuable information, and subjects that I have always struggled with as an artist, thank you for sharing this!
ОтветитьI’ve realized that I should have practiced drawing and would benefit so much if I’d get better.
I’ll try small and simple sketching prior to paint, when starting something new.
It will be hard to find a more concentrated, short and honest explanation of how to paint a good landscape, than this one. In every sentence, you touch on the things of great importance, in perfect sync with the examples shown. I've been painting on and off for at least 50 years, and I still got my focus centred on what is necessary and bringing reality onto the canvas, from your excellent and generous video. 🙂
ОтветитьThanks for the tips! Which brushes do you recommend from rosemary and co?
ОтветитьGreat video, can you mention the names of the 7 colors from the limited palette?
ОтветитьDommage je ne comprends pas l anglais
