I was interested to learn more about redoing the adhesive seal and all this video says is "it is linked in the description below" ...i have no idea what that means i have tried looking everywhere on this video !???

So no fit the adhesive gasket? Is that ok??? Obviously it won’t be water resistant!

yall i just did it and it works perfectly, i ordered the screen from a good company and the tools from amazon for 7 dollars in a kit. you dont need to use the i fix it kit as their screens are not good quality sometimes. But the tutorial is accurate and i got to fix my first iphone xr in one try hehehehehehe.

Just did this screen replacement with earpiece replacement - thanks for the guide. Those really tiny screws were a pain in the arse.

Btw. I bought a new earpiece, the old one wasn't working at all. Never used faceid anyway.

40 min to finish?! maybe for you that do this on a daily basis - took me about 1.5hrs and i've replaed screens before. taking it a part = no problem. Putting back together = frustrating! getting the little screws in place is lv 10 hard! but good video, tools and screen i bought from ifixit. would use them again but would set me expectations to double the time.

Overcomplicated this so much:

1 - don't need the silly iOpener tool. Just use a heat gun for a few seconds
2 - don't need those junk suction cup openers that break after 2 days to open it, a thin $5 metal spudger can open it.
3 - don't need tweezers or picks
4 - don't need to discharge your battery to 25%
5 - don't need to take off the LCD shield, as most new XR screens come with it
6 - They didn't test the screen before installing it
7 - They didn't use True Tone copy machine to copy True Tone over

Alright i have tried this and it is quite hard. Some screedrivers can be damaged which leeds to frustration and anger because you can't really lossen the screews. But i was lucky and managed to get through the process from start to finish.

Hi! I just followed this video to repair my iphone and its working as normal now thankyou! However my phone is a lot darker now even with the brightness at full, the colours are so dim. Could this be from water damage and is there anything that can be done to fix it?

Is the iPhone XR screen paired to the phone. If I replace the screen with a non apple screen will any errors occur? Ive heard the 11&12 screens are paired but nit sure about the Xr and X. Thanks

It was nice and easy flowing this guide. I did get my screen kit from ifixit like always. Replacing the adhesive was easy too! So nice that it has a protector on the adhesive so you can connect the cables and test the screen without messing up the seal! A cool thing aboutt he replacement screen is you dont have to thread the cable through the shield. Not a big deal but less fidling.

is putting the shield plate on my new screen necessary?

Got a big deal and probably doesn’t even make a difference, but you guys forgot a minor step. The video doesn’t tell you to replace the ambient light sensor bracket during the reassembly.

How can i do this if the touch screen doesnt work

I heard it in a lot of videos about discharging the battery below 25%. Would that help if the batteries were bulging? Those are the ones you have to be very careful with.

Where did the adhesive go, he put it in place, but as you can see when he's putting the screen back in place there is no black line of adhesive there, so where's it gone?
