ОтветитьI can feel the Wrigley's on my wingtip shoes ❤ 😮 🗯 ❤
ОтветитьThis fellow Carolinian knows good music when he hears it. And this is 1960s jazz at its peaks of inspiration, innovation, and spontaneity. Coltrane saxophone soars to peaks of sonic superb. He practiced scales religiously of which A Love Supreme is just testament. John's music will always be synonymous with pushing pushing
ОтветитьHorns sound far away

ОтветитьLove the music, but what's with that video?? It looks like a speed freak's nightmare. Just sayin'.
Ответитьamazing
ОтветитьI have never known Coltrane plays soprano instead of tenor on "Impressions". Very very exciting, thanks for uploading.
ОтветитьGreat sound of another Coltrane classic! I just recently learned how Eric Dolphy died after going into a diabetic coma because paramedics didn't provide medical treatment when he collapsed while at a performance because they "stereotyped" him as a jazz musician just having a reaction to abusing drugs! He was only 36 years old.😢
ОтветитьThis is a sermon
Prayer meeting!!!

ОтветитьUnfortunately, the drum sound does not suit into the sound of the era. Just a little bit too loud, dear Mr. Engineer.

ОтветитьWhen John's son Ravi played in Seattle, the local Weekly newspaper previewed it, saying, "Ravi Coltrane must be Jesus Christ, because he is the son of God, John Coltrane."
Ответить👏🏾👏🏾

ОтветитьThe tapes from the Village Vanguard have always been one of my 'marooned on a desert island' choices. I later bought the 4 CD set though the original album set remains my favorite. This new set from the Gate is such a gift from these two musical explorers to all of us. I just wish I could thank them personally...
ОтветитьThis is no different than others I’ve heard. Pass.
