Finding this video nearly 2 years after you published and I have learned SO much in 20-ish minutes. Great work!
ОтветитьThat's really a high valuable content ! Thanks
ОтветитьSounds pretty good for usb mic. Nice job on the settings.
Ответитьwhy do you make your voice deeper with the comparisons
ОтветитьThanks, brilliant!
ОтветитьI just watched this so that I can work better on my code that utilizes Speech-to-text API.
Wanted to use my $10 lavelier mic, got to learn a lot from the Stream professor, thanks!
<3 from India
@eposvox could you do a video about the adm noise surpression please?
ОтветитьThis video was so helpful. I really liked the exmple of muddy audio. Im still learning what these audio words mean and I wish I could find a video that just went through various words and gave examples comparing boxy and muddy audio to a control audio.
ОтветитьI still pitifully trying not to think about technique to put all the blame off myself onto the software / hardware. Buy new microphone / software is really like a dominant and obvious solution in my head but I had bad experience as you may assume and have no wish to waste money for nonexistent panacea. You didn't mention soundcard of any type... are they even in play? They obviously just an additional processing element doing the same stuff like EQ, noise removal and compression you can do in software like Audition..
ОтветитьALl i learned here is buy elgato elgato elgato :P
Ответитьmy brain cant handle all of this, i guess i should stick with my poop mick quality
ОтветитьWould the senheiser mkh 416 be a good mic for a non treated room
ОтветитьHow to sound good on stream
Step 1: get a deep voice
nice video, picked up a thing or 2 about post processing. I'll play around with it and share the video.
I'll just post what I personally use on a tiny budget, albeit not for streaming (it would be fine for that, though. imo.). It might help someone sorting comments by new^^
I use the Gyvazla mic off of Amazon (11.99 lav mic; don't let that fool you, it competes with a RØDE lav mic for 4x the price). I also added a generic 4.99 USB soundcard, since my mainboard's mic is super noisy. YMMV.
Obviously, it won't give you quite the sound of a wave:3 or other big condenser mic, but it's also a lot cheaper. and with just a bit of adjusting, people in games mention it at least once per week.
I use Voicemeeter as mixing console for my audio (mic and output) and as entry point for Cantabile Free, the VST host (Enable Double Buffer!!!) that also includes an anti-clipping feature.
I prefer this to throwing in VSTs in OBS, because it enables the use of VST 3.x, you can also use it on Discord and in games and hear yourself in real time if you want
As for plugins, I run: RNNoise, TDR Nova, RoughRider3, T-DeEsser (noise reduction, EQ, compressor, DeEsser). First 3 are free, T-DeEsser has a sufficient free _version_. I'll check out what's mentioned in the video..
I'd link a recording but YT would likely filter out my comment
why weren't you typing in the intro with the more professional sound?
ОтветитьCheap Amazon foam works just as well. Don't fall for this product placement garbage.
ОтветитьIs the shock mount absolutely needed or can I be fine with just the pop filter and boom arm?
Ответитьsuper helpful video :)
Ответитьbro your gain is mad high
ОтветитьFantastic video, great tips and tricks.
ОтветитьNearly PERFECT video. Missing one very important thing though when doing sound EQ or compression. Take frequent breaks and listen to unrelated things to Reset Your Ears. Your ears can quickly start to tune out bad sounds after you've heard them multiple times, making you unaware that the EQ you're applying or that audio clip that you've listened to for the 4th time, got worse with the changes you tried to apply to it.
Ответитьbro what software you use for your videos?
ОтветитьBlowing right into them
ОтветитьI love everything about this video. Been trying to get this crappy Blue Yeti microphone I've had for a couple years to sound good, and not going to be able to get anything better for a while. Figure it's possible somehow (Rich from Digital Foundry sounds decent enough on his..) but I'm not fluent in audio engineer stuff and what the different filters do. This gives me a huge jump-off on things to try. Thanks, Stream Sensei!
ОтветитьI have a hyperx is it worth it to get this mic?
ОтветитьHey EposVox IDK if you still come back to videos this old but I just had a question. My main focus for improving my mic quality to others is just for video calls/call outs in game. In all of your content I've watched and in others often everyone refers to using OBS settings or VB I'm having issues with VB that make it darn near unusable so was looking for solutions using OBS but what I cant figure out is will all the changes I make only affect someone who was watching me stream or when I record my microphone? Or will someone on the other end of a video call/in game be able to hear my mic changes?
ОтветитьMcDonald's cupholders are best for acoustic treatment. Hustle and Flow taught me that!!
ОтветитьELGATO promo no cap, solid video otherwise
ОтветитьThe best video I have found so far; thank you. The part with the technique was great! Now I know that I'm on the right track. I have almost removed my SSSSSSSSSSssss... sounds, but there is so much more 😅
ОтветитьThis video is criminally under viewed. I feel like I'm watching a video from a multi-million sub channel. Can't believe it's not even 150k views yet.
ОтветитьI don’t think this video is sponsort at all XD
ОтветитьI went from the first sound to the latest one and wow--thanks for simplifying this so easily!
Ответитьholy you get a deeper voice?
ОтветитьIf you're willing to shell out for it for a quieter keyboard, a Glorious keyboard(or similarly cheaper options) with hot swap capability and another $100 or so for switches, then zilent v2, Healios, Sakurios, or Roselios switches from ZealPC all have dampeners built into the switch stems to prevent the bottom out thock. Plus if you like the tactility of clicky switches, Zilents are tactile switches with a bump you can actually feel....looking at you "tactile" that feels like nothing MX browns.
ОтветитьThis is amazing!! I've been doing a lot of reading and experimenting with my Wave 3, but this video really helped pull all of my knowledge together and made me a lot more comfortable, especially on the EQ stuff.
ОтветитьI learned a lot here, thank you.
ОтветитьOut of curiosity, why aren't you adding the audio processing directly to the Wave Link software so it sounds crispy across all apps (OBS, Discord, etc)?
ОтветитьAs far as speaking clearly, I find that I speak more clearly if I'm streaming to an audience that is actually watching me, but if I'm recording, I tend to mumble.
The way I was able to overcome this was by imagining that I'm NOT recording a video but rather TELLING a friend about the game and what's going on in it - when I play with friends, my voice is more excited and more clear, so if you have a decent enough imagination that you can imagine yourself speaking to your friends on Discord about this game rather than just recording your own voice, then you will sound the way you do when you speak with your friends. It might not be a professional speaker style voice, but it will be a large step above mumbling.
Yes, I'd like to see series of videos on EQ 👍
ОтветитьGreat tips bruh I could never expected to find some actual expert level advice on utube but you are really killing that.
ОтветитьIt would have been better if you hadn't contaminated your sound with music in the background at the beginning
ОтветитьGreat advice! I've gone back and forth using audio tips from many different people, but yours gave me the best results.
ОтветитьPersonally I think it sucks you need an elgato piece of hardware to use Wave Link. They should provide a standalone license, that clipguard feature is great but not "replace your scarlett audio interface and throw another $200 for ours" great.
Ответитьmore in depth setting for elgate wave pls :D
Ответить
