They upped the HP in 2011 and added Exup on the Apex. Too bad the Apex wasn't newer and a bit longer track for a better comparison.

Apex passed the SW at the end more top end speed on the apex being the 4 cylinder should have started out rolling on at 50 !

I still think that the 1000cc 4 cylinder is a great engine, It revs higher and sounds better than the 3 cylinder turbo.

Love my Sidewinder but it’s heavy in the twisties, rode an 850 XRS Renegade last winter for a week and absolutely loved it on the trails, not as fast as the Sidewinder but handled and rode much better. Still have the Sidewinder but have a 900 Turbo Renegade XRS to go with it this year. I think it will make an awesome trail sled.

Had an old '92 Phazer ll. Engine mounted in '98 Venture 500. Original top speed 135 kmh, changed clutch weights from an old '92 Exciter ll. Top speed went 140kmh. 😂 now have the '98 SRX 700 (dream machine) out there, that thing can pull my arms off. 😂

to me the apex did well for the hp difference and age, its really hard to give up a 4 cylinder legend for reliability and sound for a lake race once in a while hmmmmm probably keep my apex!

These are worst conditions to race a heavy Apex in! They need to be on a hard compacted trail or else they just spin

That apex sounds better! I had the 2014 yamaha sr viper NATURALLY ASPIRATED that apex sounds better!

I have an 06 attak. Debating on getting a 2017-2019 sidewinder. Is it worth it or do I keep the attak?

I loved my 2006 Yamaha Attack. It was heavy yes, but a Cadillac CTSV for sure! That singing Crotch Rocket motor was amazing! With the 136” track it was a trail machine. I have Vector now it is nice but I liked the 4 cal better.

NOTHING sounds as good as an Apex , I have an 09 in the trailer with the 136 1.25 track. Beside it is a 14 Viper xtx.
