The smoke is colored per side but each side also gets 3 colors to choose from for marking different objectives, lz's, rally's, or targets.

Arcade gamers take down any good game with their "tactics". Game devs should punish this kind of game play, but then this is where the money is. New players from CoD and Battlefield style. Luckily, they move onto the next game soon.

medics have red and white smokes, as far as i know they use them as needed on feild (in game) sometimes they used colors like red, blue, or yellow to signal a heli or logi for pickup. SL are the only ppl that get yellow tho

Red smoke is pretty universally used for daytime marking of CASEVAC. Thought that was standard for all NATO countries.

i like how they were shitting on the game when it was random gameplay and then a year kater theyre like shitting on it in a nice way and hailing the players as the producers or who ever chose decent gamepaly footage sounds like theyre almost paid by Squad lol.

For clarification, the game has several factions. Some use real names and units (like Russian, British, American forces) and some are 'generically named' groups that are based on or are inspired by real groups (Insurgents are Taliban, Irregular Militia are the Ukranian Separatist and/or Chechens, Middle East Coalition is Iran or Saudi Arabia).

As a former soldier I like watching Squad gameplay, but what really impresses me is you 2 guys are watching my fave man Kamakut and Drewski playing squad XD

@ Gamology the Smoke Colors don't necessarily mean something i believe. The color differs between Factions (Russians have orange, European Insurgents green, Brittish Red, USA red, or blue, Middle East has Yellow, etc.) So it does tell you Foe or Enemy. Then there's normal blank smokes. Grenadiers have red, blue, blank smokes all Factions

Smokes are used pretty much the same way in game. You just use what you got. And can assign a value to the color over the radio. For example, Radio out "Marked enemey Stash with orange smoke. but that isn't assigned beforehand. just on the go."

react to DayZ would be really cool it’s crazy realistic in terms of the guns nades, shock system actual bullet damage, the unconscious system which is really cool, where even if u take a 12 gauge to your plate carrier u don’t die but still go unconscious as well as other things, very slept on game in terms of hyper realistic shooters

sometimes in squad if you're playing with guys who are taking thing seriously, you'll use the red smoke to mark targets, blue for friendlies so they don't catch a misplaced mortar strike or a-10 run, white for conceal, but even in those games, and usually on more casual games smoke is used regarless of color, for any purpose, communication to commanders/ squadleaders as to what the smoke means then comes into play if at all.

In squad each player gets three different colors of smoke grenades u get blue red and grey
