Vinland Saga Season 2 is Boring

I'm not going to see the video, I just don't like the title. So dislike

season 2 is framland saga

I have no problem with thorfinn not being a total psycho and a killer anymore. But watching him farm as a slave for 20 some episodes wasn’t it.

Why do you people simplify the reasons that most of us that didn't like season 2 are stating? I'm a josei fan, do you really thing I can't handle a season full of psychological development and slice of life and existential crisis and so on? It's just that it's not done well. That's what everybody is saying. Character growth wise is slow and very repetitive, very shallow in the way it's presented. You're mostly outside of Thorfinn's mind and its battles. The animation or dialogue does not properly convey the necessary nuances that would keep you hooked and made it interesting even if they were to saw the same tree for 100 episodes.

Ok i watched season 2 till 10eps then stopped cuz boring,but a week later i watched it again finnished it and now i know what it means to be a real man he got the respect of all those soldiers and he also have my respect.i learned a lot from this anime it is great finish it you'll know what i mean

S2 still sucks.....

I think season 2 is really good, pretty sure the ones hating on it only came for the basic-cold-blooded-action. But is oblivious to season 2 focusing more on character development. If the character doesn’t continue to grow, the plot won’t as well and it would remain the same. And end up being on those long shonen shows i don’t think yall want that.

After the first season i was like: ok it was alright but why is it so hyped?
Then i saw season 2 and was like WOW

Season 1 is better.

This is how I know season 2 was trash. If season 2 came out before season 1 they'd have no fans and no one would have watched it. Absolute trash and I don't care about the storytelling because they catfished the hell out of their fans who showed up for action not lame farming.

I already said once that the whole story in the Saga is not about the Vikings of the 11th century - it is about the Japanese from the 21st century, Yukimura wrote about himself. While he wrote about himself in Planetes, it worked, because the future, advanced society, high morals, etc. And even there, he still told a story about certain people, and not directly about his beloved self. In Saga it looks frankly wild.

Everyone who says that season 2 is boring doesn't understand anything about it.

Vinland saga as a whole is trash… characters emotions change at the snap of a finger. It’s not deep it’s a generic story and it has nothing to with their being no action.

These are all one piecetards, dragon ball SUPER clowns, or people who primary watch battle orientated stuff like shonen..
I watch season 2 of vinland saga, and it's actually pretty good so far.

I think the problem is that these people don't know how to process any drama outside of shonen battles. For them, the planet needs to be at stake, the main character needs to get angry to get a new power up and characters need to be doing backflips and spin kicks to keep the conflict engaging.
The only thing that interested them was thorfins little edgelord phase of him trying to get revenge on askaladd; this is probably because the Edgelord is a shonen archetype usually for a rival
character; so these shonentards can understand it.

But in season 2, where there is no big battles, but arguable even more drama through the characters and conflict. These guys just can't even process it.
Like that scene i just watched, where (bad at names) some kids stole from the guy whos the father of thorgel. The owner (father of thorgel) has this reputation of being a berserker like warrior, able to split helmets and breaking his own weapons because he swong them so hard, so he had to resort to using his fists.

This was a lie, the owner is actually quite empathetic but he now has this legendary reputation so in this scene, he's all stern but he's secretly looking for an alternative. He can't let the thieves go without being harsh, because it will damage his reputation among his tenants on his land. There there's his son, thorgil; this guy is ruthless and can ACTUALLY hit hard. The father/owner is actually afraid of him; not like he'd run away, but he afraid of thorgel's ruthlessness towards others.

This scene is nothing too grand, but it reinforces and introduces the characters. no i'm naruto .D Luffy !!! I'm the next Pirate King!!!!

In the Manga, is the season2 didn't come out. Then the Manga would have died right there. You keep hearing about why Vineland saga is a masterpiece? The reason is season 2. Period

Im fine with people who drope season 2 or thinks its boring. All i hope is that it touches the hearts of those who've enjoyed season 2 and learned from it.

Season 1 was solid, season 2 was boring. I only really got through S1 because of Askeladd, cause Thorfinn always fucking sucked. He developed from annoying to sleep indulcing, just a meh guy.

People who only like season 1 are pretty much Thorkells.

Love season 2. Thorfinn's character development is incredible.

I dropped the anime. The plot wasn't bad but mediocre to me but I enjoyed the action in s1. I understand the end goal was always to find peace but I absolutely hated how the writers catfished us using s1. They literally introduced us to a fight scene and showed so much action and in s2 Thorfinn literally let's himself get beaten up and runs away from people just bcuz he doesn't wanna fight. It's lame and that's why I dropped it. The MC is supposed to be one of the best fighters, we were accustomed to his skills and now he just runs every time someone has a problem with him? Dawg Thors didn't even do that. Thors didn't like fighting but he kept a sword on him just in case then u have Thorfinn traveling to an unknown territory KNOWING HIS PAST AND HAS ENEMIES, he sees victims of war but still tells everyone to throw away their weapons and leaves them defenseless. The series is lame, I skipped so many chapters bcuz of this

I don't know why I haven't start Vinland Saga until yesterday, but I'm glad I did. It takes so much more deeper thinking and self-projecting into the dilemmas. Good anime always does this, forcing people to think about whatever the "right" answer is

The problem is that 90% of these commmenters have the audacity to even think that Thorfinn had better character development in Season 1. He had NONE. He just went from innocent child to brainless murder machine enslaved by revenge for the entire fcking season. You failed to understand anything from the very start. Season 2 was PURE character development.
