World to world Fact is the wise can be fooled by politics. Books and interfaces , Even Jesus handed the batten to the risen queen of the south - the risen men of Nineveh to condemn the men of this world when his life was to be cut off.
The most enlightenment I have on Articulated thinking - 3000 years words were constructed, with rules, when a nations king & prophesier spoke of a sons coming, his rising, and added a clause that if he commit inquiry he would be chastened by the hand of man.
These words hold keys to the character of a king, who would judge and condemn even the fruit of his own loins 😀 for evil ruling, For the good of his kingdom. righteousness interface, find me another king like David?

Chomsky could destroy half of Quora in an afternoon sitting. We just need to find him the proper format to express his wealth of insight and reason, kinda like Joe Rogan needed podcasting in order to actually become Joe Rogan. With all relevant questions ever posed by humanity answered, we could get on with saving the planet from as he wishes us to do.

So when someone like me says Christianity is in contradiction with human rights, it's neither racist nor ignorant. Yet, when an ex-Muslim advocate like Zara Kay or Maryam Namazie says it about Islam, they're being both racist and ignorant?
Imagine you emerged from an abusive childhood and lived to tell the tale, except your peers who should be there to support you from your traumatic experience end up blaming you and side with your abuser. That's how it feels like to be an ex-Muslim, and Noam Chomsky in this context is the abuse enabler by him implying that ex-Muslims are "ignorant and racist", which is absolutely infuriating and ironically pretty ignorant of what plenty of ex-Muslims have to go through, let alone something easily said from a position of privilege.

Lesions in certain ares of the brain will disable kin selection. So say a mother with a specific kind of brain damage would leave her kids to die if it meant she could save more lives. According to the anecdote I heard, it's not because of psychopathy or diminished sense of empathy or anything like that, the mother would morn her children as expected but that wouldn't change her decision. I could not find a source for this but I've heard it in one of Peter Watts' talks or read it in one of his blog posts if anyone wants to track down the source.

This is a great channel. I have been interested in Chomsky's hierarchy which looks at various types of syntax and how Turing machines and computers and human mind differ in picking syntax at various levels.

In terms of unifying physics theories, I am sure you are all well aware of string theory, but with it's big problem of being unprovable experimentally. I am yet to look into the maths of strings, but I gather it's based on one of Euler's functions...beta function or something I don't know.

Why is Chomsky, a liberal-left stalwart, so squeamish about criticising an ultra-conservative ideology like Islam? It has always fascinated me why an otherwise brilliant brain as his suddenly experiences a malfunction when it comes to acknowledging the reactionary and illiberal nature of this antediluvian belief system. Why do you think this is, Curt?

I love and respect Mr Chomsky for his many contributions. That said, he spent his entire academic career in a culture that categorically dismissed psychedelics and other psychotropic drugs without investigation. So it does not surprise me that cannot see -- simply had no motivation whatsoever to see a connection to combinatorial logical activity in the brain as a result of drugs. But the truth is that molecules dope one another on surface layers and that changes the electromagnetic states achievable by the molecular assembly. Since neural networks are entirely arithmetical and combinatorial in nature, changing the chemistry of any brain with any molecule has the potential to alter the symmetric groups expressed there. Choose your discipline, the linear algebra is consistent across domains.

So it is perfectly clear to any willing viewer that the doping process that turns a quartz crystal slice into a computational and electronic device -- a semiconducting circuit drawn by etching lines in doped substrates of silicon dioxide matrices -- this process is perfectly analogous to the much richer possibilities of doped biological neural nets.

Dope is tech. Restrictions on brain doping are simply restraints on the brain states that you are permitted to experience. Which is complete bunk if there is any sort of intellectual and personal freedom whatsoever.

I think the argument (not my argument) for psychedelics leading to language is that they can induce synesthesia by altering brain signals and causing parts of the brain to communicate that normally wouldn’t, and that it could have been the “ah-ha” moment where we first experienced the attachment of a specific abstract meaning to a sound, and that as more of our ancestors experienced this, it could have altered our groups and how we changed our environment in a way that over time would add selection pressures to the species that could then lead us more directly in the direction of evolving specific biological capacities for language. But I have no idea if there’s any merit to it.

A delightful man Professor Chomsky. I have found myself to disagree with him, particularly over politics, but I am so interested in and grateful for what he discusses here. On Heidegger, yes he was a Nazi. Shocking indeed that an intelligent and cultivated man like Heidegger would never regret publicly, unambiguously, unreservedly his association with the Nazis. I also think Professor Chomsky has not been as critical of far-left oppressive regimes. Fidel Castro's Cuba, for instance, was no more free or less state-terrorised or more accepting of disagreement and dissent than Augusto Pinochet's Chile and/or Francisco Franco's Spain. But has Prof. Chomsky been as condemning of Fidel Castro as he has of a fascist dictatorship like Pinochet's?

I just listened to Chomsky's answer to the question about cryptocurrencies. He went off on a tangent and discussed banking and the financial industry at some length, but actually said nothing about cryptocurrencies. If his answer has any relevance to the question, it's that he doesn't seem keen on decentralisation. Not sure if he forgot the question or just decided to change the subject.

Did it ever occur to Chomsky that Ayaan Hirsi Ali is critical of Islam, not because she's a self-hating Islamophobe, but because the religion had her genitally mutilated as a young girl? I'm sure Noam would find a way to blame that on the West and racism somehow though.
