2 minutes talk to start? Us too much talk. But the work you’ve done very well good ideas
ОтветитьAbsolutly no need to remove the turf
Just dig it in
Great video, ty!
ОтветитьEvery single thing I found on google was “weed killer” when I typed in grass or lawn” so bs and annoying
ОтветитьThis was really hard for me and I’m not sure if it was because it’s Bermuda grass and I didn’t have help. I got a 5’x5’ square removed in an hour. It felt so tedious. Maybe I need that flat shovel you have. The roots of the Bermuda grass go so deep. Any tips?
ОтветитьOh wow, I would have just attacked it head on and it would have been a mess. Cutting strips and rolling makes so much more sense. Thanks for this tip.
ОтветитьLoved this!❤Simple instructions yet very effective❤❤❤
ОтветитьI'm so trying this!
ОтветитьThis clearing looked sooo easy! I would live to use this method for my fire pit area... except it's not sod, only weeds 😢
ОтветитьYou cannot hide a fire hydrant
ОтветитьI’m all new to this. How do you now prevent the grass from growing again?
ОтветитьProbably should have just put it in a wheelbarrow as you went
ОтветитьYou are a Godsend!
ОтветитьWhat type of shovel is that?
Ответитьthanks for the idea!
ОтветитьThank you for this demonstration!
ОтветитьYou didn't mention how long it took you to cut and remove the first row of sod by yourself and then the remaining time needed to finish with two people. It's been seven years, do you still remember?
ОтветитьI have done this throughout my yard but I reused the sod. I turn it upside down, cover with some dirt to build berms in my flower gardens to give things dimension and height.
ОтветитьThis video save me hundreds if not thousands of bucks. Many thanks 😊
ОтветитьOh god, I love this woman!
ОтветитьI realize I did it wrong. I think this is right way to get rid if grass.
ОтветитьOk so I’m not crazy for doing that even if my neighbors think I am.
ОтветитьNice to see a woman showing us how to do it. A lot work but I thought you were doing your whole lawn. If that was the case I would definitely hire someone to do that. It’s not just the physical labour it’s where to put this heavy grass once lifted and the weight of it. I live alone now as I’m 65 and my husband passed 17 years ago. One son and he’s always busy so that little bit you dug out would do me in dear but well done ! Good job and thank you
ОтветитьThanks for the useful video 🙏
ОтветитьYou made that look sooo easy!
ОтветитьThis was helpful. Thanks!
ОтветитьSo, this is all hindsight, seven years later, but, I took out a 10 x 20 foot swath of lawn, with newspaper and cardboard. First, make a plan and decide what you want, and where. Did the holes, amend the soil, if necessary, and place the plants. Place cardboard to cover all exposed grass. I left some space around the plant for feeding in the future. Cover the cardboard with mulch, good soil, etc. No digging, and no weeds for the next year. Neat and clean. I started out with newspaper, but you need a lot of it, and wind can be a problem. You have to keep it wet as you go. Cardboard is more forgiving. And, either cardboard or newspaper is far, far better than landscape fabric, which I used only once and had to rip up two years later. Awful for plants and soil.
ОтветитьGreat video, and you always have a beautiful smile!!
ОтветитьGenius. My son and I were STRUGGLING lol. Thank you!
ОтветитьGreat Video! I must apologize for taking 7 years to show my appreciation!
ОтветитьDONT HIDE THE FIRE HYDRANT!🙄🤦♀️
ОтветитьYour in-laws are very lucky to have you.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing!
ОтветитьMy Gertrude Jekyll did the same thing!😢 I planted 5 bare root DA roses about 6 weeks ago. Two are thriving, one is starting to break dormancy, one is struggling, and then there’s Gertrude-DEAD! So sad. Zone 9a. Vegas. Good news is all of the potted DA roses I purchased are looking amazing!!!
ОтветитьWonder what advise you would give for GA clay. Talk about faint of heart….clay would very likely be reason to put away the shovel and rent a sod cutter. Suggestions, otherwise?
ОтветитьI don't know if you'll see this because it's been 7 years, BUT: If you accidentally cut an extension cord, you can actually salvage it by doing a clean cut and purchasing a new plug to splice in. I'd recommend looking up a video. You could alternatively make it into a quad box, essentially turning it into a multi (4 plug) extension cord.
Ответитьvery nice
ОтветитьGreat video.
ОтветитьWhat’s it called …. SAWD?
ОтветитьYou seem like such a sweet lady! My son and I are working on uplifting sod...but we've been doing it with a shovel, which works but that little shovel you used looks like it would be easier to make the cuts into the grass/dirt. Am going to Home Depot tomorrow to see if I can find a couple of those! Thank you for this insight...you've been most helpful! 😇
ОтветитьHi, where can you dispose of the sod if you don’t have a compost pile?
ОтветитьU made it look so easy, great job!
ОтветитьWorst job ever...best solution ever!
ОтветитьWhere we can put the grass we take out
ОтветитьWhere's the work boots, lol
ОтветитьI'm watching this 6 yrs later when it czme up on my Google search result.. I only found your channel 2 yrs ago and am now a dedicated fan! You haven't changed a bit, through 2 children a so many other changes. Love it all!!
ОтветитьI don’t have sod. I has good old Georgia weeds. How to I get rid of that without chemicals?
ОтветитьI have the tool I just didn’t know how to use it . Great now I Know . Thank you ( Ontario Canada , outside Toronto ) Your the best .
ОтветитьI know this video is old, but I have areas I want to remove the sod as well to create gardens, paths, or other areas. The problem is my sod is almost impossible to dig into. The yard is old and the grass has been there forever. They aren't big enough areas to rent a sod cutter. Does anyone have a method for when you sod is super hard and tight and you can barely get a shovel or edger down to cut? And when I do get an edge cut, the grass is not easy to remove either. It's taking forever!
ОтветитьWhat is this shovel called please?
