If you want it and have the extra cash, buy the Pro. I for one was chasing the base PS5 a couple years back when it was scarce and scalpers were making bank on it for upwards of $2k each. So now when it's widely available for $500 it's a great buy for me.

Will be investing in a Pro to future proof for titles releasing in 2025 and beyond that will be looking to take full advantage of its hardware. By the time GTA VI releases, I promise we’ll see a large uptick in numbers among people wanting to get their hands on that Pro. Don’t be surprised if there are base PS5 models out there that won’t be able to handle it. That type of issue has happened in PlayStation’s history before

Here's what most of these reviews are not telling you. If you upgrade from PS5 to PS5 Pro, you won't really notice a big difference in graphics or performance unless you have a TV/monitor that takes advantage of the features PS5 Pro offers. You need a 4K with HDR , variable refresh rate and at least 120hz. OLED is really the way to go. I upgraded from PS5 to PS5 Pro, but I also upgrade my TV from a 4K UHD to a 4K OLED with all the above mentioned features. The difference is jaw dropping. I have absolutely no buyers remorse whatsoever. It really comes down to 2 basic questions. 1) Do you enjoy gorgeous graphical fidelity and performance.? And 2) Do you have an extra $800 lying around that you don't mind parting with?

I bought it half price and having a ps5 I even regret paying 400€ to get the pro. There are few games that take advantage of its new capabilities. I played last of us 2 which I never did before and that was cool. But now I’m playing cyberpunk and there’s no patch for it. Then I bought Robocop cause it was on sale and there’s no patch for it. Then even for games that there’s a patch and I’m planning to get, like silent hill 2, from videos I’ve watched I’m not convinced with the results. So why should someone pay 799€ for this system? And if you have a regular ps5 with a 120hz VRR TV with which you can unlock in many games the framerate in fidelity mode and go up to 40hz+ (believe it or not 40 is noticeable better comparing to 30) then the value out of the pro is much less.

You forgot one major game with the best ps5 improvements:Gran Turismo 7 wich already has 8K support!The game looks like 60% better and faster on ps5 pro!

TLOU shows perfectly advantages of pssr. Even though it's same internal resolution on both machines perceived detail is significantly higher on pro. It looks very close native 4k.
I also noticed in Path of Exile 2 while using pssr and changing internal resolution weirdly hardly makes a difference. I still wouldn't necessarily recommend most people upgrade if they already have base ps5. Only people who really appreciate finer details it's worth it.

After skipping all the ads in this video, let me tell you. If you are finalcially ok, get a pro. Is obviously more expensive, but you wiil be playing at 60fps with higher fidelity.

A PS5 PRO with a better CPU will be released in 2026. They should have kept it to 1tb and concentrated on the CPU.
