This was my group and I’s final project from my first semester class (Media I) in the film & video program at GVSU. This was a nonfictional interview project on the creative process. For this project my group and I decided to choose Professor Yancey who is an associate professor in the Modern language & literacies department at GV and also a Puppeteer! He does a lot of creative lectures through puppet shows and teaches his students how to provide them for elementary school kids as class projects, in Spanish.

I want to give a special thanks to Ellen Wilson and Professor Yancey for giving my group and I access to b-roll footage from previous times he has done his puppeteering classes.

Also worth mentioning, special thanks to the Grand Valley Film Academy for recognizing the hardwork and love that was put into this project. We couldn’t have done it without the very talented and creative Professor Yancey who was willing to offer his time to answering a few of our groups questions about the creative process. This film was awarded:
BEST NONFICTION FILM - JEROME STOKES, ALEJANDRO CID, AERIE LABODA
BEST AMATEUR - JEROME STOKES, ALEJANDRO CID, AERIE LABODA
BEST PERFORMANCE - JASON YANCEY
