Im sorry to tell you this on carpet its better to spray both carpet and wood. Let it sit until it starts to get a bit tacky 5 10 minutes. The carpet will stick better.

I would have added some wood putty in those spots to level it out

whats happening is the router bit is getting hot as its rubbing more than cutting, it heats up then the Loctite on the screw come loose unglued. The vibration makes the screw come out.

You really need to retire that dull flush trim bit. Cut the wood with a saw and trim it flush with the router. The dull bit burning it’s way through all that wood is getting so hot it’s literally cooking the bearings right out of the end.

Use a holesaw or Forstner bit next time you want to cut those dowel rods. You’ll get a nice clean cut. Just slowly run the bit in nice and easy. Mix Saw dust and wood glue together into thick paste and you can fix gouges like that. Apply it, let it dry and sand down flush.

A little late on this video. Just a tip, to cut the curve in the dowel use a hole saw instead of a spade bit.
