Did Ben Affleck and Matt Damon Fight Over Who Played Will in 'Good Will Hunting'?

What I love so much about what the Ben Affleck and Matt Damon did was just the fact of how original but more so how much true grit and like fuck everyone else mentality was shown. Whats so amazing about these indie films is they have the basics down, lighting, costumes, sound, visual, etc nothing is over the top no studio or executives are conducting the show it’s just raw and real and the talent and image and message is clearly being spoken by the artist.

Good Will Hunting sucks because you look at a smart, handsome, WHITE dude with EVERYTHING going for him and he’s still a mess. From a global perspective, he’s in the top .0001 % for advantages. What the fvck is the problem? Abuse? People get over that. Trust? Boo hoo. Fear? Gimme a break. If they made him a truly marginalized person (or woman) then it’s another story. But this film is a cringe fest. Truly.

Super hero movies spoiled hollywood. All a good movie needs is a good story, a single popular actor, and some solid acting. That's it for it to be memorable for decades. Once again proving, simplicity and limitations can create entire worlds and characters.

Everyone on here talking about Harvey Weinstein should know that the only way that got that intro is because Ben did a movie with Kevin Smith called Mallrats and it was Kevin who convinced Harvey to do GWH... otherwise it would have been done with Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire at a different production company with a terrible director and nobody would be talking about this movie all these years later

I love Goodwill Hunting but I always thought Ben sucked in that movie

I think Robin Williams signing as a supporting actor helped the movie tremendously.

Ben Affleck is telling you the answer. Plus don't forget genius supporters such as Robin and weinstein who is now in jail. Does that mean he was a great guy in the time they were planning this movie, and maybe later he started drinking too much and became a bad person.
Whatever the case they all held to each other and trusted each other, this is truly amazing

Good Will Hunting is one of my all time favorites. The scene with Will and Robin Williams in session when he tells Matt Damon “it’s not your fault”. That’s masterful acting on both parties.

Everything about that movie was great, and then Robin Williams took it to another level. There isn't an actor on earth who could have done a better job with that role. That kind of character depth is missing in movies of today.

Man Ben is a cool dude. Yeah he has his demons we all do. Nobody is perfect and we haven’t lived his life. Fun fact: they wrote a gay sex scene in the middle of the script to see which studio execs actually read their script. Of course there were people who never mentioned it bc they didn’t read it.
