Near perfection of an album. A cherished nugget of gold from my youth that I take out and grip with happy reverence.

look around for the friends that i used to turn to to pull me thru,lookin in to their eyes i see their runnin too,,,,that verse still blows me away,most of those friends are gone now,

That's the summer I hit 18 and left home doing Mach 2, with my hair on fire and my ass catchin'.

My 19 year old sister was murdered in 1981. This was one of her favorite albums! I can still see us partying and having a great time to this music. I love the memories these songs have!😌

O Yah! This album gets me through the day, for the last 44 yrs. Can ya believe that?

It's a great album, Music is the one things that ties us together , Don't care who you are where ya come from, I'll share a good memory over a great song everyday, The only thing that can take you back to a minute in time like it was 5 minutes ago

Sounds like the soundtrack of 1978 to me. Three weeks holiday in France with friends and this music was playing most of the time.

This album came out at a time when my friends and myself were running on empty and trying to do the best to survive. Drinking , drugs , music and youth got us through. Oh Jackson Brown helped.

In 1977, I was in the Navy hanging out with my friend Mark Gilbert he was from Boston. We had a great time 😊 together.

And if you're still around for Love Needs a Heart? Did I mention I also had to leave little 7 & 4 year old daughters in Cadillac when I called the road my own. My life story this morning! This album came out & hit me between the eyes. Full go video production van? Yeh we DID have Richard Prior on the video. Sveiks!!

One of my favorite albums

I was 10 years old in 1978. Me and my mom used to go to Zuma Beach through Malibu Canyon every weekend. My mom drove a little pale blue Toyota Corolla with an 8 track cassette player inside. I remember driving through the winding canyon, looking the lush vegetation and blue sky as we listened to Jackson Browne-Running On Empty. It’s a simple but vivid memory. In those moments everything felt peaceful and carefree.

Listened to this album with my roommates many evenings in 1978. What a great under-rated album!!!

OMG! I forgot about this GEM. What an album. An absolutely masterpiece.

I remember setting off on our summer geology field camp (late 70s), with Running on Empty playing full blast on the cassette stereo system in our field vehicle. Six weeks and a few days later, we listened to the Load Out/Stay as we pulled into the parking lot at the geology building. There was a sad silence as we unloaded our duffel bags and gear. The Load Out/Stay seemed to be an appropriate ending to one of the best summers of our lives. I was ready to turn around and do it all again.

I was in Orafino, Idaho that September of 9 eleven. I was a pt at Idaho State North Hospital. I was scheduled to fly home and had to go greyhound due to hietened airport security.

JoJo dancer goes well with this Album. It stars Richard Prior and a caution to the wind regarding free basing cocain.
