Brilliant. Lunch time video during work
ОтветитьLooking good I'm excited to see the finish product! Congrats
Ответить👍👍👍
ОтветитьChris what days were you working its colder than a witches tit out here .. your only ab 2 hrs northwest of me
ОтветитьAnother great video. Love this build series.
ОтветитьAwesome start. Always many things to do when preparing for class to make it go smoothly.
ОтветитьLoving this great to see the progress
ОтветитьJust started watching again I see your helper is an older guy like me I am 65 still work full time as a finish carpenter. I am ok financially but prefer to work . If you look back in history like our ancestors they worked into their 70’s and 80’s why? No social retirement benefits!
Good hard work is pleasing to God ! “ by the sweat of your brow”!
Good job !
Two things: instead of poly iso insulation, you might have used mineral wool batts. Termites and rodents can’t survive in it, plus you don’t need any fire barrier. Yes, by code your crawlspace doesn’t require fire treatment on those rigid batts, but from a family safety perspective, you should seriously consider it.
ОтветитьFascinating! Just curious, why not use lag bolts to hold the beams together? I'm sure nails and glue are fine, just wondering.
ОтветитьIt's looking stunning, Chris! Your house is going to be gorgeous! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
And happy holidays!
love the old school method. Hammer and nails dawg!
ОтветитьAwesome! From a plumber's view point...that is one fine crawlspace.
ОтветитьLooking good, I would live to build my own home and now that I am following your journey it make me want to do it even more. Can't wait to watch your next videos. They can't come fast enough. Wishing you and your family all the best on your adventures.
ОтветитьHi it's going to be a good build but I cannot watch it with you swinging the camera about all over the place put it on a tripod or buy a gimbal I want keep watching but it makes me sick
ОтветитьGreat work Chris! Good thing that you have got your little helper standing by! Give UTZ a pat on the head for me! 👍👍🐶🐶
ОтветитьVery enjoyable watching this build. Great video.
ОтветитьStay safe.
ОтветитьThis is a superb series. I appreciate your attention to detail and tips on working alone (or without a crew).
ОтветитьIt is always amazing to watch how houses are built in other countries. Thanks for sharing this, much appreciated. Cheers from Buenos Aires!!!
ОтветитьI wonder how you haven't gone up the charts with this one
ОтветитьMust be great to finally start working at your house yourself. Can't wait for the next episode.
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!
Are you considering using the crawlspace as the plenum for heating and cooling?
ОтветитьAll that concrete... and now insulation on the INSIDE. This is where I tune out.
ОтветитьHappy belated birthday lol
ОтветитьI'm bummed....I thought you were gonna drill all the holes by hand and then cut those huge beams with a handsaw. Lol....just kidding.
But seriously, my man's a beast! Chris wrestled those boards around alone and then dropped them in place!
Take a good look ladies...this is what a real man looks like. Works hard, gets dirty and no product in his hair.....🤣🤣🤣
Great video. Can't wait to see more. Be safe and try not to blow your back out bud. You might still need it after the house is done. Lol
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO
ОтветитьGreat to see you having your son help..
ОтветитьNice hammer work 👍
ОтветитьDidn't you already find termites on that land? Down here in the south we install the foam 2-4" below the framing to provide a gap for termite inspections. The lost in insulation is worth the ability to find termites before they cause problems.
ОтветитьWhat happened to oots?
ОтветитьI'd probably be worn out after nail 16 or 18.
ОтветитьGirder. That is all...
ОтветитьIt’s funny to see a woodworker using those rigid foam insulation panels as insulation instead of a surface to breakdown plywood with a track saw 😂
ОтветитьYou definitely look like you know what you are doing. I so miss doing this kind of work. I worked in construction for 8 years building apartment buildings. Now I watch all I can find. Some are better than others. I would rate yours near the top.
ОтветитьIf you have a splice in the sill plate you will need an anchor witching 12” on both sides of the splice. FYI also I would use 1/2” anchor bolts but not sure code in your area
Ответить"I don't do this every day, so I'm looking forward to driving all these by hand"
Next scene... wears tennis elbow brace :D :D I feel that.
Foundation is awesome and super strong, but I'm most excited for the actual timber frame videos. If your timber framing work is as impressive as your furniture, this house is going to be epic. Cheers!
ОтветитьGalvinized screws into those brackets next time. Screws have less of a chance of backing out vs nails.
Ответить"july 15th, that is the number of my birthday!"
My overly-excitable backside: oh, me too! Me too me too me too!
😅😅
somebody loves you, sweet stiletto hammer ya got there, better then most of us carpenters have lol
ОтветитьGlue? They just analyzed a town where a tornado came thru. All the 1960's houses with nailed-down sill plates/beams were destroyed. Oops
ОтветитьKiller. Great vid. This will look awesome
ОтветитьGenius idea tgat you used those shelves to move the huge girders by yourself!
ОтветитьI like the timber frame series- 5 months without a new video. I hope all is well with you,
Ответить
