The roads all need to be raised up 20+ feet from where is was... and buildings need to be on the up-side of the new road...Give the river a wide berth... Stop having to rebuild every 5 years.

This is sad I don’t even know what to say about this it’s just heartbreaking seeing Chimney rock and the little town I loved so much get destroyed by Helene like this praying for these poor families my prayers and condolences are with them I 100% understand why they are mad at Visitors going there it’s there home and people video it like a tourist attraction I don’t blame the people and families that live there for expressing there feelings towards it it’s very disrespectful to the families and people that live there it’s just devastating and heartbreaking!!

The hydro dam owners are responsble. They knew the storm was otw, they could have lowered reservoir levels prior to storm. Instead they dumped it all down stream.😢

I live in Hendersonville, and the morning of the storm, I was upset as a little water got into my home. I soon realized that I was so lucky, I can't believe the destruction you have shown here.
I would drive from Winston-Salem on I-40 and get off in Old Fort. I would go over the mountain to Hwy 9, and Hwy 64 to come home from work. I have thought of those people who live on the mountain, and know their situation has to be dire to say the least. Hoping that they all made it through.

The tv news doesn't show the independence view that you have shared with us. Terrible, but the people are facing it and working to clean up what they have left. Lots of strength and resilience being shown. I am old and would be a hindrance, but I wish I were younger. Would volunteer in a heartbeat.
