I would never have thought a short video of a piano being unboxed could be so incredibly useful. Let me explain

I paid for a NU1X from a local dealer. I was excited to get it delivered, but as the store is only a few miles away, I wondered if I could place it in my car (a Mondeo Estate) and install it myself. My earlier full-sized digital pianos came in two halves and needed a small amount of assembly. After watching this video, I knew installing would be easy, but it might not fit into my car. Already, the video has been useful.

I returned to the store where I paid for it to see if I could collect it myself. The sales assistant told me he had already unpacked it, and showed it to me wrapped in blankets. He explained that because he was the only delivery driver, he had saved about an hour of his time by unpacking and assembling at the store. From the video, I knew this was a lie. Another way the video was very useful.

After 5 minutes of investigation, the piano he was due to deliver was the shop floor model. Basically, he was wanting to deliver a used piano in lieu of a new one.

I cancelled the order. I've now ordered from another store, much further afield. I was insistent with the new store that it was new and not a shop floor demonstrator model. The assured me it was. When the piano arrives in 5 days (I am still very excited), then from watching the video I will know exactly what to expect and will know if it is a re-boxed piano. Yet another really useful aspect of the video.

So, amazingly, a short video of a piano being taken out of its box has proved really useful.
