Our faces and jaws continue to melt in a sense, a result of our foods getting softer and our tongues not pushing our jaws up and forward like they once did. Ever since the Industrial Revolution our foods have got softer, and also have decreased in nutritional content. As a result our tongues and jaws no longer have to work as hard, and we no longer develop the necessary strength to push our jaws out by the time we are adults like all humans did 1,000 years ago.

Not only have a our foods gotten softer, but the quality of our food has gone down hill. Our ancestral diets ensured our bodies were built with brick and mortar, and now they are built with cardboard and paper clips. Decreasing the size and stiffness that our systems once had to move air and fluids more efficiently.

With strong tongues no longer providing adequate scaffolding to ensure our jaws grow large with pronounced cheek bones, we are now left with faces that almost look like they are melting, aka "facial downsing". Our faces no longer have cheek bones, our noses getting smaller, and they are starting to look long and narrow, like that of an alien!
