Exodus 4:21 Clearly says “But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.” It was God who hardened Pharoah not Pharoah.

I think it makes perfect sense if one has no eternal perspective, but I have one so nah for me

I love the Bible Project. The synopsis of portions of scripture are presented clearly and help give insight to God's word. I do have one criticism of the opening to the Exodus tale. The Evil of Pharaoh was not only the killing of the Israelite baby boys, but also the oppression via slavery of a group of people solely out of a feeling that he was entitled to oppress them. Slavery whether to sin, our current lot because of the fall, or practiced as an oppressive act is evidence of evil.

What’s funny is they found that The Pharaoh Ramesses II (many believe this is the pharaoh in this story) had hardened arteries around his heart. Perhaps the line “Hardened his heart” was literal 🤔

I loved the prince of Egypt when I was little. I'm agnostic but I started reading the Old Testament, all these stories are coming back to me from having grown up in a Catholic household.

Man this is amazing, you've done a brilliant job covering these books. I could literally go on for days connecting all the dots to the New Testament, and I think if people were just willing listen they'd see it as clear as day how real it is. It's just far too intricate with every part of our reality to be conceived by human minds. I really hope I can somehow teach others just how profound this is as well. Thank you Lord for opening my heart to this beautiful story we're all part of. Amen.

If God destroyed the earth with the flood and only Noah's lineage remained, how did evil people end up in Egypt to now go against the Israelites??? Whose lineage is the Egyptians???

The CRAZY thing about Passover is it was more than just a remembrance of their exodus from Egypt, it was also Gods reminder that Israel still owes God a first born son.

The Israelites were not exempt from the final plague God demanded payment from them as well for their idolatrous nature, but God would “put it on their tab” so to speak if they would cover their doors with lambs blood.

But God was still owed a debt of a first born.

Funny enough Jesus dies on Passover.

Pharaoh represents the government, corporations and institutional control that craft man-made laws to indoctrinate, control, maintain power and make profit at the expense of Gods kingdom on Earth. People worship money, not God, so money and materialism matters more than the God given rights of the people.

Redefining good and evil and killing children = current day wars being justified as being "different from murder" under the guise of patriotism or "the greater good." War and colonization are murder for profit and control of people, land and resources. Individual freedom is deemed evil while corporate control is deemed good and necessary.

Enslavement and forced labor = retirement age pushed back, the unstable workforce and overall state of the economy. People working hard just to get by, inflation, homelessness and no middle class while the 1% hoard wealth that makes them richer than the 99% COMBINED. Cost of living increasing while minimum wage stays the same and the wealth gap keeps getting wider and worse.

Evil institutions trying to run the world and replace God with science and far to many world citizens conform without question thus hardening their hearts to God's eternal grace and mercy.
