Great tutorial, I'm definitely going to use these techniques. Thank You..
ОтветитьTHANK YOU!
ОтветитьYou're the Meister! thx
Ответитьdude this has been exactly what ive been looking for. I've been painting mini's (Originally FoW 15mm WWII) for ages and i recently got back into the hobby with SW Legion and I could never quite figure out these kinds of effects, and my more seasoned painter friends never could explain them to me in a way that worked. this video instantly got me success. I just so happened to had picked up some weathering effect pigments to test out and your chip by brush technique along with the pin wash immediately fixed the jarring effect i had with my TX-130 tank i painted in a weird tri color sci-fi jungle camo. Thanks so much for this simple and clear vid.
ОтветитьI model cars (typically older racecars from the 50's, 60's & 70's) and use these techniques all of the time. My favorite part of building!
At first, I was afraid I wasn't "skilled" enough, but I can assure you, if you're thinking anything along those lines, perish the thought! You almost can't mess this up... Just keep collecting tips from others for your "arsenal" and you'll be amazed at what you can create! Just practice! 👍
That mud flick is brilliant. 👍😎🤩
ОтветитьThanks so much for this. Do you not add a gloss coat inbetween the paint and the weathering effects? I read to do this but my tank is really shiny and yours isnt.
ОтветитьDo you varnish between weathering parts as to not effect the previous step ?
ОтветитьGreat no nonsense tutorial. I think it can become so over whelming with the amount of choices through the process of building a model, this keeps it simple.
Ответитьvery useful
ОтветитьIs there a difference between weathering oil paints seen here and regular oil paints? Can both be used with the similar weather effects?
ОтветитьAfter watching your video, you’ve give me a little more confidence in weathering my models. I appreciate the time you’ve taken to show us how some great effects can be achieved.
Thank you for sharing
Do you have an alternative for the dark brown pigment? I have no clue on where to the wilder brand
ОтветитьThe part about letting oils sit for a while to let the oil seep out over 3 to 5 hours is the most important thing I pulled from this. I appreciate that!! I have never seen anyone else say that in any video.
ОтветитьDo you put a gloss coat on before applying washes?
ОтветитьHow do you prepare the model after the base colours? Do you use an enamel clear coat, or a varnish, or something else before starting with the oils? Could you use an acrylic clear coat? I’m not sure of the ‘chemistry’ here. Can’t wait to try some of these techniques.
ОтветитьAwesome, thanks.
ОтветитьGREAT beginner's tips! I am just starting back into modeling after many many years away from it. I cant wait to try these techniques out on car models.
ОтветитьBefore you start with the weathering, have you sealed the base colours in with clear coat? And do you need to apply more clear between effects?
ОтветитьBefore you apply any of this do put a clear coat down???
ОтветитьCan i do oil pinwash wiith Revell enamels?
ОтветитьNice!! Do you have a link to the brushes you use?
ОтветитьSo the hair spray technique's almost the same as using vallejo's chipping medium? Never knew about that technique might give it a go!. Awesome video, it was really informative and you amde some otherwise complicated looking techniques look fairly simple to achieve by a rookie!
ОтветитьI’m a airbrush artist and do automotive and custom bikes n stuff. And I was suprised how much of this info I can apply even in the automotive industry for a weathered look! Thanks!! Subscribed!
ОтветитьGreat stuff! Thank you!
ОтветитьGreat video and very good tips , excelent explication of the tecnics and how aply in the model. Keep the good working and I´m waiting for new videos with good stuff. Grettings from Portugal. 😉👍
ОтветитьCool tutorial, did you apply a clear cote before doing the pin wash?
ОтветитьThanks buddy 👍🏻
ОтветитьI’d love to see how you would weather an n scale freight car
ОтветитьWoww
ОтветитьWhen I go to clean up the wash it tears up my finish. Im using acrylic varnish to protect the paint and mineral spirits to clean and it does not clean up excess without eating the finish.
Ответитьweird i think weathering is the easiest. thats just me thought
ОтветитьThank you!
ОтветитьAwesome video, thank You.
ОтветитьIve watch a few of these chipping and weathering videos, and this has been the most informative and straight forward one ive seen.
Thanks
Do you need clearcoat for the first one?
Ответитьgreat video :D
ОтветитьSuch an awesome, informative video with detailed instructions.
ОтветитьWith the 2 tone chips, do you think the paint down?
ОтветитьWhy oil paints? Is there something about them that makes them better?
ОтветитьVery useful video. Thank you.
ОтветитьCan the first step be done with acrylic paint and acrylic thinner ?
ОтветитьDoes thinner work with all type of paints? Like acrylic?
ОтветитьNarration could be slower.
ОтветитьThanks man! I'll try this soon and I hope it'll look as great as that!
ОтветитьCheers as someone coming back to the hobby this is very helpful.
ОтветитьWill the hairspray trick work with enamel paints?
ОтветитьBrilliant thanks
