Lesson learnt: "Drink 8 or 9 diet cokes a day"
ОтветитьI m surprise that Carmack didn’t cut one ear and severals fingers just to optimise him self
Ответить10k bet is laughable for Carmack. And probably the other guy as well. Like I am worth like 1% of Carmack and I bet anyone 50k that nobody will set their foot on mars by 2030. And also the man on the moon landings were fake.
ОтветитьIs a pity that in the edition of the video wasn’t a square with the video games that he was taking about
ОтветитьI knew that Carmack have a reputation of practical, for this reason his projects always finish, this was confirmed which his vision of meaning of life. More practical imposible
ОтветитьHey Lex, that was a great closing statement u can tell he appreciated it
Ответитьi grew up on mario and commander keen
ОтветитьThis helps a lot
ОтветитьThis is 6 hours and I probably didn’t understand 85% of what he said but it’s really fascinating. Ive probably listened to it a dozen times as “background.”
ОтветитьI think we mere mortals need a 5-hour John Carmack interview at least once a year.
ОтветитьHe talks a lot. Does he ever have a "Pause" key?
ОтветитьIt’s been 2 years Lex - time for another Carmack episode! 🎉
ОтветитьLord Carmack🙏🙏🙏
Ответитьsince this genius is at work on AGI, it is safe to say that we will achieve it within his lifetime
Ответить8 or 9 diet cokes a day
Ответитьthis episode was underestimated
Ответитьlex has no business even being in the same room with this guy. Carmack is a vsionary and a genious while Lex resembles an albanian ice cream maker suited for his new job interview
ОтветитьI’d love to hear Carmacks thoughts on development of anti cheat software.
ОтветитьYou're a billionaire and you can't get your fkn teeth fixed. I don't understand this at all.
ОтветитьI came here to leave this comment to remind myself of one of the best interviews on the internet.

ОтветитьJohn Romero Podcast please
ОтветитьJackson Kevin Harris Brenda Garcia Thomas
ОтветитьПиздец это охуенно! Спасибо Лекс!
ОтветитьJohn Carmack is awesome. I just think it is important to say that out loud.
ОтветитьSmart man and a Pioneer, he's looking good and healthy for his age also!
ОтветитьI Hope someday you make a podcast with Gabe Newell
ОтветитьGreat Talk!
ОтветитьThis man’s intelligence is palpable, it’s crazy.
ОтветитьHas there been a call to Linux Torvalds for a similar conversation?
ОтветитьI started using where more often than I should at work because of 5 hours listening to John.
Ответитьlex fridman is ccp
Ответитьjohn can't be serious that as an adult with daily responsibilities that one could sustain 100 hour work weeks. that's over 14 hours a day. leaving less than 10 hours to: have quality sleep, do errands, do exercise, eat meals, socialize, maintain family time and commitments, do financial tasks, etc I don't believe he literally would be doing 100 hours of pure work even if he thinks he could. its something teenagers with zero responsibilities and all aspects of life taken care of by parents could do. but it's not realistic.
Ответитьpeople can't program long hours cause they're too emotional; if you're rational like John Carmack, you can program for 20 hours and not get tired cause your emotions aren't exhausting you; I heard many times how people take programming, business etc as "candy fun"; if it's candy fun for you, you're gonna get crazy in your head
ОтветитьIf only we can see him live coding.
ОтветитьTurbo pascal was so much slower than c
ОтветитьPlease, Lex, make one more insightful talk with Mr. Carmack. He is such a legend!
ОтветитьSmall integer number of books, hahaha.
ОтветитьThank you for this, Lex. I often feel disillusioned when I've hit a wall on a project. Watching this or listening to it in the background is always motivational for me. <3
ОтветитьDisappointed that Carmack and "Elon" are on a first name basis. On a related note, Lex Fridman is so vapid.
Ответитьwe need a sequel to this one.
